Deidara wakes to the sun shining in his eyes. He washes his face and ties his hair up as he prepares for his first mission alone with Sasori. "Morning" he smiles as he sees Konan sipping her tea with Kisame at the table.

"Morning Dei," she replies. "Ready for your mission?" She asks. He nods as he pours himself some coffee and joins them. "What do you have?" Kisame asks. "Recon in the Sand" Deidara replies. Kisame nods, "I love recon missions. Hardly get them, not really the size for sneaking around." he chuckles. Deidara smiles, "Yeah not really. Do you have a mission today too?" Kisame nods, "I think we all do. Itachi and I have an escort mission to the Sound." "Oh, okay. Well good luck on yours" Deidara smiles.

"Brat. Let's get going," Sasori says walking into the kitchen. Deidara chokes on his coffee at the sudden intrusion. "Uh, okay" he says glancing at Konan. She chuckles in reply and pats his hand. "Have fun!"

They head out of the hideout together, the warm wind blowing their hair slightly. "Alright it's a 2 day trek to Suna. I don't need rest so if you're tired, hungry or whatever you have to let me know." Deidara nods as Sasori starts to walk down the rocks. "Sasori, we don't have to walk, you know?" He turns around, raising an eyebrow. Deidara smiles big, "Now you can see what I can do." He digs into his pouch as his mouth hands start to form a figure. Sasori cringes at the tongues whipping out of the blondes hands. A small bird lays in the palm of his hand as he throws it into the air. He makes a flurry of handsigns and focuses on his bird. Sasori watches as the bird enlarges and its wings expand. It sets down beside Deidara as he hops on. "Let's cut this mission in half," he smiles, holding out his hand. Sasori smirks as he takes his hand and the blonde pulls him up. "Useful blondie, very useful" Sasori replies as the bird takes flight.

Deidara eyes Sasori as he watches the landscape in the distance as they soar through the clouds. His red hair tumbles through the wind, a pensive expression through those hazel eyes and that creamy skin... Sasori looks over meeting Deidaras blue eyes, already looking at him. Deidara squeaks and turns his head, his cheeks flushing. "What is it?" Sasori asks. The clay user shakes his head, "Its nothing," he replies. Sasori narrows his eyes, "Just say it already." Deidara looks up, is he that easy to read? "I'm sorry about the other day, I was bummed you didn't get to sleep" Deidara  chuckles. "Oh. I don't need it so it's not a loss," Sasori says shrugging. Deidara looks down, strangely wanting Sasori to feel sad about their missed nocturnal encounter. He looks up to find Sasori staring at him. He swallows slowly, "What?" "You have bird poop in your hair," he says matter-of-factly. Deidara screeches as he checks his hair frantically. He doesn't find any but finds Sasori smirking at him. "Just kidding" Sasori says casually as he lays back and closes his eyes. What an asshole... I guess I should take it as a compliment that he's joking with me at least....

The two ninjas finally reach the Sand as their battle against the Kazekage wears them both out, luckily Deidara was able to infuse the leaders sand with his explosive clay and disarm him long enough to capture him. "You okay?" Deidara pants as he throws Gaara's body into his birds tail and hops on his clay bird. "I'm fine," Sasori says joining him. "Lets get out of - ah!" Deidara falls to his knees, clutching his side. Sasori kneels beside him, "You have some clay shrapnel in your stomach. I can heal you but we need to get somewhere where youre still" he says pressing his hands to the blondes stomach. Deidara winces as blood pours onto Sasori's fingers. "I know a small inn just outside the village. Fly this damn thing already" Sasori says with some concern that even surprises himself.

Deidara infuses whatever chakra he has left to lift the bird and flies it quickly to the inn not too far from where they are. Sasori throws the blondes arm around his shoulder as he helps him inside. He pays for a night and carries him to the small traditional, minka style room. "Ow, come on uh!" Deidara yelps as Sasori drops him on the bed. The redhead removes his cloak and drops his puppets as he joins Deidara beside his bed, kneeling next to him. Deidara eyes Sasori's focused stare as he pulls his shirt up abruptly. "Hey!" Deidara yells, trying to pull down his shirt. "How am I supposed to see what I'm doing if I can't see what I'm doing?" Sasori replies with a blank stare. The young ninjas lip trembles as he looks at him, he's right. He uncurls his fingers from his shirt and turns his head, his embarrassment tangible.
