I felt his heart beating beneath the palm of my hand. The rhythmic thumping created a melody so breathtaking that it could only have been created by a creature of pure divinity.

He bent down slowly, his warm breath hitting my ear

A shiver raked through my body and I pressed my thighs together tightly.

"What's wrong with a little deviance?" His gravely voice purred in my ear, his lips less than an inch away from my ear.

My stomach somersaulted and my breathing picked up.

What was I getting myself into?

Flashing lights in all colours imaginable blinded me as I entered the concrete building. The scent of alcohol and human perspiration hung thick in the air and infiltrated my nostrils in a most unpleasant way.

A rave has never really seemed like it would be my scene, but my best friend - Kate - decided to drag me along tonight.

I walked over to the small lounge area with a few red leather couches. I spotted one open one-seater and rushed to claim it as mine before someone else did.

The rest of the sofas were covered in either couples whose favourite activity was sucking eachother's faces off or drunk idiots who were passed out already.

Was this truly fun to them?

I couldn't wrap my head around the possibility that they actually enjoyed this. Was I the weirdo for not liking to grind my ass on some stranger's junk just to have a meaningless one night stand?

Kate disappeared as soon as we got out of the car. She saw some sexy blonde and decided that he would be the one to satiate her for the night.

I had a lot of respect for Kate Kingsley. She worked her ass of at university to become a lawyer one day. She was passionate and dedicated. But she also was a real party girl.

I guess those who work hard, play even harder.

My eyes scanned the room. I was searching for her black curls and slender body. I wanted to go home and she was the one with my car's keys.

I didn't see her anywhere. She was probably off somewhere in a room corrupting that poor boy - but he couldn't be that innocent if he was at a party like this.

I was about to get up off the couch when I felt a hand on my shoulder. My head shot up to my right and I locked eyes with the stranger touching me.

My breath was knocked out of my lungs and my mouth instantly turned into the Sahara desert.

Shit! I didn't know who this guy was, but I knew that I had never seen anyone as attractive as him in my entire existence.

He had jet-black hair and smoldering black eyes. He had a rugged jaw and a dimple on his left cheeck.

I licked my lips, trying to moisten them.

The man's sex appeal was through the roof! He was good in all the worst ways and bad in all the best ways. I could sense that he was trouble.

But he was the type of trouble that everyone secretly craved...

My eyes left his face and started tracking down his toned body. He was wearing a charcoal grey button down shirt with black slacks, but you could see his defined muscles straining against the fabric.

"You don't look like you belong at a place like this," he called over the loud music.

No shit, Sherlock. This was definitely not my natural environment. His comment made me a little embarrassed though.
