Missing Pieces

I awoke in a cold sweat, looking around for a window. I needed fresh air. Stumbling out of the bed I crawled over towards the window, sticking my head out and gasping for breath

Why did I think of her? Why did I think of them? Because that was weeks ago and I was still haunted by their deaths. I was haunted by everyone's deaths

I clutched the burnt window frame so tightly my knuckles turned white.

I noticed how it was still dark outside, and wondered if I only sleep for a few hours or for most of the day

Suddenly my stomach growled, and I sighed in annoyance. Now the real question: raw animal or people food? I wolfed out as little as possible so I wouldn't get caught or killed, but should I risk theft?

My stomach growled again, and I realized that I really wanted junk food. Chips, french fries, twinkies, slushies, chips. I really wanted chips.

I thought about taking the pocketknife with me, but decided against it. I wanted to try out a new ability. I could always easily know what people were feeling, but when I got to this town, I noticed that when I told the nurse to leave me alone, she got this glazed look in her eyes and did as I said. That never happened before, but this place was kind of weird anyways, so maybe it enhanced my powers? I didn't know, but it was like my vision for emotions was clearer, and I wanted to experiment

Walking out of the house, I noticed how cold it was, but decided to ignore it and try to find a supermarket, or maybe a diner. They throw away half-eaten hamburgers, right?

I made my way towards the supermarket, hoping they had chips. I then smelled fresh made hog dogs and my mouth watered. Yes, this is the place.

I walked in, making a beeline towards the chips.

There was so many! Sea salt, BBQ, Pickle, Extra salty, Low salt, Spicy jalapeño, ugh! So much to chose!

"Excuse me"

I jumped at the voice but saw it was only an employee "Y-Yeah?" I asked, my voice cracked at the lack of use

"Can you not drool on the floor?" He asked. His shaggy blonde hair covered his pale acne-ridden face, but not the annoyance glowing like a halo around him. He was bored as hell and wanted me out. He wanted an easy night

I wiped my mouth with my sleeve and muttered an apology

"Where are your parents?" He questioned "You look too young"

I glared and decided to use my power to good use "Leave em alone now"

He scoffed "Alright princess, no need to get pissy"

My eyes widened a bit. Nothing had changed.

I looked down in thought, wondering if I should just bail. My stomach growled loudly in protest and I thought out my options.

1) Take a bag of chips and run

2) Grab some food and try to make him do as I say again

3) Walk away and go find a rabbit to kill

It only took me a second to decide.

I grabbed a small bag of chips, then went over to the frozen section and grabbed a pack of hot dogs. If I had to run, I'd rather have eight frozen than two cooked ones.

I placed them on the counter and he counted it up "6.89"

"You should give it to me for free" I replied leaning up against the counter

"Ha, no" He replied

"You should do as I say" There was a quick flickering of blue, and his eyes slowly glazed over

"Are we gonna have a problem?"

"...No"

"Good" I replied, grabbing the things and walking away "Now goodbye"

I was halfway out the door when he suddenly shouted "Wait! Stop!"

I broke out into a run, knowing he'd call the police to come after me. I held the food close to my chest, both terrified and exhilarated

"Stiles' scent is full of stress. He was struggling with himself here" Derek stated

Scott let out a shaky breath, racking his brain trying to think of where else Stile would be

"Scott"

"Yeah?" He asked rubbing the back of his neck upset

"I know you're worried about your friend, but" Derek took a deep breath then spoke "I think I saw your sister"

Scott was upset to say the least "Derek, this isn't funny"

"Does it look like I'm laughing?" He glared "I was at that pet clinic on Halloween, and I saw her"

Scott was silent for a while, then asked in disbelief "How can you be sure?"

"Short, brown hair and brown eyes like yours. Though she looked a bit tanner"

"Derek-"

"We stared at each other for a while and when I called out for her she ran off"

"Well why didn't you stop her?" Scott asked annoyed

"I tried. She was fast, werewolf fast"

Scott's eyes started to water "Knock it off Derek-"

"Scott she's alive. Somehow she's alive and she's a werewolf-"

"Derek stop this. I don't have time for any of your sick games, I'm already worried about Stiles"

"This probably isn't the right time-"

"You think?"

Derek gave him a glare then continued "You remember that I bit her, to try and save her. Maybe she's dead and maybe she isn't. But if she is, then she's a werewolf. A werewolf that could help us-"

"Help us with what? We don't know half of what's going on!" Scott snapped "No, even if she is alive, she's not going to be a part of this" He checked his phone for any texts from Alison or anyone else in the pack, but there was nothing. Frustrated, he walked off towards the exit

Derek stood on the roof alone, knowing that the girl he saw was Seraphina. He just didn't understand why she ran.
