"Beep...beep...beep"
My eyes felt like they were cemented closed, when I rubbed my eyes I felt something on my arm. A clear tube.
The beeping stayed constant, everything was white.
No
Not a hospital! NO!
I looked around frantically for my clothes, finding them in a neat pile. I quickly pulled my pants back on, then ripped the clear tube off and slipped on my t-shirt and jacket
The beeping got louder and I could hear people running towards me. There was no window to jump out of, my only chance was to run.
I didn't even bother with shoes. Bolting out of the room my feet barely touched the linoleum. The cold chill of the floor shot up my spine giving me an extra boost of energy
"She's running!"
"Stop her!"
If I want to make it out I need a distraction.
Looking up I saw one of those large mirrors, and around the corner was a fire alarm. As I rounded the corner a security guard tried to grab me, and I jumped off the wall and slammed his head into the alarm. Suddenly a siren started going off, the lights going red and people instantly started running around.
I slipped inside a room and listened to the doctors stop, then start helping people get out. I looked around, finding the room empty with a spare hospital gown. Slipping it on I took out my ponytail and shook my hair around. It was long, almost down to my waist.
I stumbled out, shaking and walking slowly. My hair shielded my face on either side, but in front of me was a young-looking woman with brown curly hair
"Here, let me help you out" She gently grabbed my left arm with one hand and the other hand resting on my back
"I'm fine" I pleaded, trying to hide from the woman "Leave me alone"
She let go of me and stated in a dead voice "Okay" I watched the woman walked off into another room.
I creaked my way out of the hospital, then ducked behind a bush and took off the hospital gown. I started to walk away discreetly, but once I was out of sight I bolted out of the area.
The minute I turned to see if anyone was following me, I was tackled to the ground.
I slashed my claws at them in self-defense, but I always chose flight, not fight, so they had grabbed my hand instantly.
"Let go of me. Let go of me!" I struggled against the person as they held each of my wrists in their hands
"No! Not again!"
I stopped for a split second. Again?
I looked up at my attacker. He had curly brown hair and smelled like pine trees and vanilla, but also something flowery. Could this be Isaac? No, the Isaac at the house was just pine and vanilla, this one was those both, but mostly flowery
"Seraphina?" He asked, and I realized I had blanked out "Seraphina, it's me, remember?"
He wants me to say yes. He's so desperate, but I don't remember him.
"Are you Isaac?" I asked cautiously
He smiled from ear to ear, his grip on me loosening and tears welled in his eyes "You remember!" He sat up, quickly engulfing me in a hug.
I gasped and felt like I was in a chokehold, I scratched and clawed terrified that I'd suffocate
"C'mere ya little shit!" The monster spat at me
I crawled away frantically trying to get away. I screamed when he grabbed my leg, hearing his throaty laugh behind me. I kicked with my other leg hitting him smack in the jaw. He cried in agony and I scrambled to my feet trying to get away
"Get back here!"
I raced off through the forest terrified of the monster behind me. My heart was beating as hard as a drum, pounding with every step I took.
"YOU CAN'T RUN FROM ME" The monster snarled as I jumped over a riverbed, tripping as I fell and scrambling through fallen leaves. My legs burned as I raced away, feeling its claws nip at my arms.
I pumped my legs faster than ever before, ignoring the searing pain in my legs and thighs. The monsters footsteps were growing fainter, but I kept running out of sheer terror.
Suddenly my legs collapsed from under me. I fell and started rolling down a hill, dirt coating my face as twigs scratched my limbs.
As quick as it started it was over, and I was left laying on my stomach. I was uncomfortable, but my bones ached for me to stay still.
Maybe you should. What if the monster's still on the prowl?
But I lost it ages ago
What if it's letting you think that
...
I suppressed a groan as I lifted up my arms in a feeble push-up, only to land smack on my back. I stayed there for a moment, but my mind was screaming at me to continue. And that in itself terrified me
Get UP!
Do you WANT to die?!
Get your lazy ass up!
You're gonna be monster-food
I rolled onto my side and practically clawed my way up onto my knees, then to my feet. Slowly but surely I started walking, scared of what I was running from. The person almost smelled like Isaac, but
NO!
STOP IT!
YOU EVIL EVIL MONSTER!
I could hear screaming, and I clutched my ears collapsing and yelping in shock. The scream was ringing, the tone so loud and petrified it made me want to claw my ears off.
"Stop it!" I cried, my heart racing as I tried scratching the noise out of my ears. I felt something warm ooze onto my fingertips, making me scream as well.
My eyes were shut tight, but I saw a woman. She had pale skin and fiery red hair, she was the screamer.
"Shut UP!" I howled, shutting my eyes as tight as I could, wanting to claw at my eyes
Suddenly she stopped
I was breathing heavily, tears were welling in my eyes. This place was a curse, whoever inhabits this area must be cursed.
I scrambled to my feet, trying to run as fast and as far as I could.
