Kain's POV

I woke up again the next morning remembering Ace had told me to go to the park at 2pm. I checked my phone and it said 1pm.

"What?! How did I sleep through my alarm?" I asked myself quickly rushing towards my closet. I picked out a white shirt with a white hoodie, some blue jeans and also some black fishnets again to go underneath.

I took a quick shower and got dressed and by the time I had finished getting ready and drying my hair it was 1:50pm. I rushed out the pack house and made my way to the park, having to walk because I forgot I had a car until I was already halfway there.

When I arrived it was 2:10pm and I looked around for him, hoping he hadn't left thinking I wouldn't be there.

If I went in my car I wouldn't have been late. Oh fuck what if he left thinking I wasn't coming. I was panicking at this point.

All of a sudden a head was next to my ear and someone shouted "BOO!"

I turned around and saw Ace standing behind me holding two ice-cream cones. One vanilla with a flake and chocolate sauce and the other strawberry ice cream with a flake and strawberry sauce.

He handed me the vanilla one before I looked at him and said a quiet "thanks"

"Your welcome lovely" He replied with a wide grin on his face while mine turned bright red.

I started to eat the ice cream before he could tell I was embarrassed from the nickname he had gave me.

Why was he calling me lovely? Shouldn't he be with his mate right now instead of me? I started questioning myself before I realised something. I could smell the spring water and cinnamon again.

He looked at me before saying "Smell something good?"

"Hmm" I said in agreement remembering I had a mouthful of ice cream.

He chuckled with a smirk on his face. "What's it smell like?" He asked.

I swallowed my ice cream before answering him "Hm... I think its spring water and cinnamon. It is a really good combo."

"Where do you think it's coming from?"

"I don't know have you got a really strong cologne cause I smelt it in the hall and last night too."

He smiled and shrugged his shoulders before he turned to me.

"Do you know what the signs of finding your mate are?" He asked me

"No clue. I only know that you are destined to be together until they day you die unless you reject them."

"Oh guess I'll tell you then, shall I?"

"Go ahead but first let's go to that park"

"Okay" He laughed and my eyes lightened up instantly.

Noone had ever went to a park with me. They said it was too childish for a beta and that I had real duties to attend to.

The truth is that the only work I did was work assigned by the alpha, aka work he doesn't have time for which isn't quite often.

Other packs' betas have to do alot of work apparently so I'm glad my alpha is so kind.

We walk over to the park and he sits down on a bench before pulling me onto his lap. I blush and hide my face from him, looking down.

He grabs my phone out of my pocket and turns it on before asking me for the password. I take it and put in the password before handing it back.

He turns on tiktok and my favourite song comes on. I roll my hips to the music like they are doing in the video, forgetting where I was.

Out of nowhere Ace groans. "Ngh S-stop"

I blush and get off of his lap, sitting beside him. I look at his jeans and see a little tent had formed.

"I-im sorry... I didn't k-know" my stutter coming back again.

I wish I could curl up into a little ball and dissappear.

"I-I think I'm g-gonna go now. B-bye" I said before walking back to the pack house, all the while my face keeping its bright red tone.

I laid down in my bed before my head flooded with thoughts. Why didn't I think? Idiot. Stupid. He has a mate! Wait... he has a mate! Won't they be jealous? He's been hanging around with the beta of all people instead of being with his mate.

I push the thoughts to the back of my mind before taking a shower, since they always relaxed me before bed.

When I layed back down in bed my eyelids were heavy. I looked over at my bedside table before realising why I hadn't woken up on time. I hadn't gotten a new one since I smashed it against they wall.

I reached out for my phone before my heart dropped. Had I lost it? No I'm not that stupid. When was the last time you saw it?

In the park.

I had realised that I left my phone with Ace when I walked back to the pack house, and to make things worse. He knew my password.
