As she washed up, I went outside into the pouring rain and stupidly got the water hose and attempted to rinse the mud off most of her clothes. I assumed she would want to wear at least the shorts when she left. As I hosed them off, I couldn't help the ludicrous smile that graced my face when I caught my brother peering out the window from the big house. He probably thought I was insane washing clothes past midnight in the pouring rain.
I honestly didn't care, it was thanks to him, actually all my brothers that this night had turned out the way it did. Just a few hours earlier I had gotten into the biggest fight of my life with my brothers. They were angry that I had given up trying to fake being a student as Ashley Waters. I stopped going to practice, I stopped doing my homework, and I simply loved it when a teacher sent me to the office. That whole mission was a joke, a year later and we still weren't any closer to finding the answers we needed.
I had more than once voiced my opinion saying that we could make do without it but each time I was vetoed and forced to continue the charade. After my second fight in two weeks, with threats from Mr. Hendricks to kick me out, I finally got an earful from Mr. Blackbourne at the family meeting. It went from it being a lecture, to a chastisement, to a full out brawl. They were all against me, cursing me for being selfish and not caring about my family.
It was because I cared for them that I wanted out; everyday was a danger to each of them and I lived with fear that one of them would turn up dead one day. They however didn't give me a chance to explain or even attempt to hear me out. Angered, I left with gravel flying everywhere as I hauled ass out of Victor's. I drove around until I ended up at the same bar I always did.
It was small, hole in the wall kind of place that usually catered to regulars which is why I was able to get way with drinking underage. I came to this bar on and off after the one night I made a friend playing pool. I had introduced myself and his head reeled back as he asked if I was being serious. When I told him I was, he extended his hand and said names "West."
I thought he had been lying but turns out he was telling the truth and we had been inseparable ever since. He was one of the coolest guys I knew, and he often times turned into my go to therapist. Because every time I went in, it was because I had had got into a fight with the guys.
So mad as hell, I stormed in and spotted him near a table holding a cue. As I walk towards him, he laughs and says "So its Dr. West tonight huh?"
I grunt and he laughs some more. He then leans in close and says "I got the perfect medicine but you have to be good."
I was extremely confused until this little piece of heaven comes walking out of the bathroom towards us. She smiles at us both and casually leans against the table. West smiles hugely and says "Remember that girl I'm always telling you about. That she is the greatest thing ever created and she is like a sister to me. Well this is her. I present to you, Emily."
Yup I was goner from the moment she laid eyes on me. After who knows how many beers and shots, and after I promised West I would take her home safely. I finally had her for the night. That's how we ended up cruising around the country side full of mud and me washing her clothes in the middle of a thunder storm.
I laughed, loving how it echoed in the quite night. When I got most of it off, I picked up my wet bundle and rushed inside. I stopped, frozen in my tracks, when I spotted her sitting on my bed. The shirt I had given her barely covered half her thigh, the tops two buttons were undone, and her hair was a sexy wet mess that hung down her back.
She was sexier than before and I was slowly losing control...
