Just the Two of Us!

Today is my birthday. My father and brother insisted on having a party at our home, despite my protests.

Another occasion to oblige guests with glasses filled with wine and tea, another occasion for me to put on a performance— how boring.

Fortunately, I was able to slip out the window when no one was paying attention. Hehe...

I brought you some pastries, made by yours truly. Don't tell anyone~

Let's find a quiet place to enjoy the scenery and chat.... chat about anything! How does that sound?

After receiving Xingqiu's letter, Lumine sat quietly at the tree in Liyue near the alchemist table, and the teleportation waypoint made her face visible due to its faint blue glow. "You actually came!" A familiar voice said and Lumine turned to come face to face with Xingqiu who was also illuminated by the blue glow of the waypoint.

She chuckled "Why yes of course I did, that's what you wanted right," she said "I also read you mentioned food so as to not have your whole supply of sweets disappear into the belly of my emergency food I decided to leave Paimon in the teapot today with her own supply of food," Lumine chuckled and Xingqiu smiled "How thoughtful of you my liege" he said "So shall we walk then?" he continued as he held out a hand to help the blonde to her feet which she gladly took.

"Where to first?" Lumine asked, "I heard of this abandoned shrine that once belonged to Pervases. He was a junior in the Yaksha order of the Adepti. Maybe we can go visit it and pay our respects to him there?" Xingqiu proposed and Lumine thought for a second "Yeah, sounds like a plan to me" she said with a smile "Lead the way," she added.

Xingqiu smiled and started to walk towards the bridge leading out of Liyue harbor in the dark of night, their path only lit by the stars and the moon.

As the pair walked over the stone pathway that leads towards the bridge, Xingqiu spoke up "Did you know that the bladework I now use was in a faraway past used by the Adepti?" he asked as they stepped onto the bridge that crossed the small ravine with a river that split Liyue Harbor and the path toward their goal from each other.

Lumine faces him curiously, intrigued by the topic "Interesting, the Adepti you say? Do you know which Adeptus used this style?" she asked. "Why, of course, the art was named after him. The Adeptus Guhua, he was quite the character when he was still around. He was so special that someone close to him took the time to establish the Guhua brotherhood which would later be known as the Guhua Clan just to honor him," Xingqui spoke enthusiastically, waving his arms around a bit to emphasize his words and excitement "The art that was taught there must have been his then right, the one Guhua himself used to fight evil with when he was still alive?" Lumine asked curiously.

"Correct," Xingqiu replied quickly" Although Guhua himself did not wield a sword nor a polearm, the arts that are taught in the Guhua clan which are sword and polearm related were created by him," he said. Lumine looked at him as they exited the bridge walking onto a smaller path made out of rocks "But if he didn't use a sword or polearm then what was his weapon?" she asked curiously "Don't tell me it was a bow, that wouldn't make sense at all considering he used close range techniques," she added with a small chuckle which Xingqiu joined her in "That would indeed not make sense at all," he said as they passed a small pond decorated with a single rock and lily pads.

Following the rocky path, he continued, "All jokes aside, he used a claymore back in the day. In fact his claymore is still in use today, have you ever heard of The Rainslasher claymore?" he asked "It's a dimly fluorescent claymore with no sharp edge," he said adding a small description.

Lumine thought for a second as the path they followed slowly turned into a dirt path "Yeah I think I've seen a claymore that fits your description on Beidou's ship one day while she was showing me some stuff she found during her travels," she eventually said with confidence "My this Guhua seems interesting indeed maybe I'll ask Xiao about him one day," she continued which sparked Xingqiu's interest "You know the Vigilant Yaksha, the one named Alatus who is mentioned in a volume out of the 'Hidden Wonders and Folklore of Liyue' collection named, Yakshas : The Guardian Adepti!" he said with excitement in his voice "I've heard a lot about him from dear Chongyun apparently he's the only one remaining out of the five Yaksha's who fought by Morax' side during the Archon war," he added looking at Lumine for an answer

"Well you're not wrong," she said as they walked past two giant statues. Lumine paused for a second looking at them and spoke "This is where I performed an Adepti art with him once to unmask a man who was pretending to be a Yaksha," she said grabbing a pastry out of Xingqiu's bag and taking a bite "How interesting," Xingqiu commented as he grabbed a pastry himself and started eating it.

The two walked on in silence for a few seconds until a giant rock arch came into view and Lumine spoke up once more, "So you mentioned Chongyun earlier, how's he doing? Still chasing evil spirits I bet," she said with a smile, "Yes of course, that's Chongyun for you. He never gives up," Xingqiu said with a small smile on his face at the memory of his best friend walking around talking about spirits.

Lumine nodded "Yeah, gotta admire his determination though, he just doesn't know when to quit, it's truly amazing," she said genuinely praising Chonyun's passion to reach his goals "You should truly stop pranking him so often though, he genuinely believes you, you know?" She added, side eyeing Xingqiu with a slightly disappointed look on her face.

Xingqiu chuckled slightly "Yeah I know I truly do, but there is no harm done with pranks right?" he said then facing her "And besides it's not like I only pull pranks on him, I do truly care about him and value his friendship," he added placing a hand on the left side of his chest where his heart is supposed to be showing he's genuine.

By this point the duo of friends walked under the rock arch and followed the dirt path until they could spot an old run down building "Look that's the shrine," Xingqiu said as he pointed at the old building "Looks kinda sad from all the way back here," Lumine said as she and Xingqiu made their way down the dirt path that lead to a small stone pathway which lead towards the old abandoned shrine.

Xingqiu sat down on one of the stone steps and patted the spot next to him which Lumine gladly took "Thank you my liege, for spending time with me on this day," he said as he faced her with a happy smile. Lumine chuckled, "Any day," she said with a smile. Then she grabbed two pastries, handing Xingqiu one and keeping one for herself, chatting the night away with him while enjoying the sweetness of Xingqiu's homemade treats.

And thank you very much for reading, I hope you enjoyed.

Nothing much to say about this one, Xingqiu is a cutie, I love how he baked his own snacks that's just so adorable, he probably did it by the book knowing him. Did y'all know I was walking the same journey as these two walked in here just so I could have a perfect view of the world I was writing.
