That inexplicable feeling I felt when I saw Jeff kissing Natalie seemed to take over my senses.
"Jeff?"I blurted out.
"What?" He stood with his back to me.
"Do you wanna know what I think of you?"
"Don't I already know that? The psycho thing and all?" Jeff turned around and stood on the ledge. He stared at the ground menacingly. I couldn't help but feel frustrated, as if he didn't get it. But if I didn't mean that, what did I mean? I was getting myself into something I didn't like at all.
"Yeah, I guess." I said. Jeff winked at me.
"Then let's stop playing friends okay?" And with that, Jeff jumped off the edge. I growled and jumped over the fencing. I hit the ground, stumbling. Where was he? I ran off into the forest, spotting his white sweatshirt. Others may have been confused by this, but I knew Jeff too well. A lot of his emotions seemed to be cut off from his psychosis back then. He became disoriented in situations like this. So he fell back on what he always did, running away. This was his weakest point, I had the power over him. Then it hit me with a realization, I could kill him. Well, suggesting that I find Jeff first. A raindrop hit my head. Then a few more. Soon it was a downpour. I continued to run, searching for any sign of Jeff. By now my clothes were completely soaked. My eyes captured his white sweatshirt and I ran as fast as I could, grabbing out my knife. Jeff was walking just ahead of me. I lunged at him and Jeff managed to side step me. He turned around, coming at me just as fast. I stumbled and Jeff pinned me down. I spat in his face, showing my obvious disgust. Jeff looked crazier than ever, his eyes wild, seething with rage. I rolled him over and put my knife to his neck.
"Any last words?" I smirked.
"You won't do it." I frowned. What was he talking about?
"Yes I will." Jeff laughed.
"No you won't, you can't. You're too weak to do it."
"I will! I will I will I will!" I screamed in anger. Jeff smiled, taunting me.
"But will you?" He asked.
"I... will." I picked up my knife and aimed it at his chest. He looked at me, still smiling. Why wasn't he afraid? Mom, Dad, I'm so sorry. I can't. I put my knife in my pocket and got up, brushing the dirt off my shirt and walked away.
"Thought you were gonna do it for a second," he said.
"Yeah, me too," I mumbled as I disappeared into the trees. Jeff ran to catch up with me. I whipped around, my knife clutched in my hand. "Don't get friendly with me, I will kill you one day."
"Ok," he said softly. I turned around and started to walk briskly to the mansion. I ran up its stairs and through the door. I went to my room and slammed the door on his face. After a little bit I heard Jeff's footsteps leave my door. Flopping on my bed I sighed. What the hell was I actually thinking? I had maybe the perfect opportunity to avenge my parents' death and I turned it down. Was Jeff with Natalie? Damned bitch. No. I shook my head. I needed to get myself in order.
Jeff POV
BEN and I sat on gaming chairs in his room.
"Do we always have to play Zelda?"
"Shut up and play." I flung the controller at the floor. BEN looked at me as if I was crazy. "What's your problem?"
"Nothing." BEN shook his head in disbelief.
"Mhm. Yea right. I bet you're thinking about Natalie." I groaned. Why did BEN have to bring that up right when I was forgetting about the ordeal?
"Seriously, man?"
"Jane told me you and Natalie went all hanky-panky. And you don't like her?" Great, so Jane was spreading my personal business to people. It wouldn't be too long before all the other creepypastas were pestering me about this.
"It's not like I passionately made out with her after having a deep crush for six years."
"Wow, so detailed. I'm glad to see you caught up on your romance novels, Nancy." I swear, if it wasn't forbidden to kill each other, I would have already stabbed his smart ass.
"Shut up. I wasn't even thinking about Natalie, I was thinking about a situation with Jane that I had yesterday." BEN shook his head in disapproval.
"This can mean no good."
"Can you stop commentating on everything I say? You're like an annoying little conscience inside my head."
"Ok,ok.what happened?"
"Well..." I struggled for words, "we fought."
"Pfft, that's so new." I glared at BEN. That kid didn't know when to shutup.
"Listen, she was this close to killing me, like her knife was right above my heart. I mean I taunted her and said that she was too weak, I didn't expect Jane to do it, but I was still surprised she didn't kill me." BEN looked puzzled and frowned.
"That's weird, not like Jane at all, is it? Too bad she didn't do it."
"What?! You wanted me dead?" I punched BEN in the shoulder. He rubbed his sore shoulder.
"Oww. I'm sorry but I'm all for Jane." This time BEN managed to dodge my swing. He laughed at my frustration.
"Whatever." I crossed my arms and left the room. BEN's laughter followed me all the way down the hallway.
Jane POV
BEN barges in my room like he owns the place.
"What the hell are you doing? Get out."
"Was I not supposed to tell Jeff that you told me about Natalie?" He looked panicked.
"Nah, I don't care. Jeff can deal with it, don't care if he's mad at me for telling you. I didn't expect you to keep secrets from him anyway." BEN looked offended.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Look, just go hang out with Sally or something." BEN crosses his arms.
"Sally is taking a nap, we're going to play later. I have time to talk." I pointed to the door and BEN shook his head and remained in the same spot. I sighed.
"What do you want from me?"
"Talk about antisocial." I threw a pillow at him. I sat up cross legged across from him on the bed.
"Can't help what I was born with."
"You're boring." he said. I leaped at BEN but he jumped off the bed and ran out the door, slamming it shut behind himself. Well you too. I realized how hungry I was and went downstairs to the kitchen. What to eat, what to eat. The fridge was filled with kidneys. Eyeless Jack. I dug in the fridge past the kidneys and found a yogurt cup. I pulled it out triumphantly and slammed the fridge door shut.
"You'll spoil your dinner." I jumped at Slenderman's voice. Even though I had known him for quite a while now, he stilled creeped the shit out of me.
"Like I care." I turned around and crossed my arms defiantly. I smirked at him.
"Watch your manners, you're not an adult yet."
"One, I'll be eighteen in a week. Two, you're not my dad."
"My, house, my rules." I threw away the yogurt, making sure to whip it in the garbage can.
"Happy, old man?"
"Thank you. Dinner will be ready in 2 hours, I expect to see you at the table in the dining hall." He said formally. For some reason, I was pissed. I heard wrappers crunching and turned around. BEN was perched on the counter, a pile of junk food surrounding him, his face stuffed with potato chips. He met my eyes and made a mad dash out of the room, dropping snack bags in the process.
"Really?!" I threw my arms up in disbelief. But instead of ratting him out, I flopped on the couch in the living room. Cartoon Network was on. Natalie sat down next me. I ignored her and paid attention to Adventure Time. I looked at her out of the corner of my eye. She was staring at me.
"Hi." she said.
"Hello" I replied coolly. I had a feeling I knew where this conversation would lead to.
"I need to get something off my chest. I feel like I did something wrong but I want to check with you first."
"Sure, Natalie. Go ahead and say what you want." She was gonna ask if I was jealous.
"Well you saw us and...well do you think that Jeff doesn't like me?" What?! That bitch didn't care how I felt?! Witnessing that shit, and she asks if he likes her? What the hell am I saying? I don't care. Right, I don't care. A little voice told me I did, but I pushed it away. Natalie was staring at me expectant for an answer. I cleared my throat.
"Well, I don't know. Natalie, I shouldn't be answering this, more even talking to you. I'm kind of Jeff's enemy."
"Let's face it, you won't kill him, will you?" She looked at me seriously. Everyone doubted me.
"Well yeah I'm gonna kill him. What kind of question is that?"
"Nevermind." She said quickly. I got up and went to my room, just hoping that no one would bother me.
*******
I sat at the dinner table, which was eerily quiet as usual. Sally sat next to BEN whispering to him about video games. Observer was staring at Slenderman. Considering that Slenderman could read people's minds, they were probably having a mental conversation about who knows what. And above all I sat across from Jeff. I stared at him with absolute disgust. He picked up his butter knife and made a tracing motion in the shape of a smile. Right at my face. I picked up mine and flung it at him. It missed and went through the soft walls. Everyone paused, staring at us. Jeff grinned at me and I leapt over the table at him. He dodged and jumped on the table.
"What's going on?" Sally whimpered.
"Jeff," I snarled, "I've had it with you." He only laughed.
"As you would kill me."
"Try me." I picked up one of the knifes and flung it. Damn! It missed him once again. Jeff kicked up plates at me, shattering upon impact and the pieces hitting my face. I ripped out a shard from my hand and shoved Jeff off the table, he kicked me hard in the stomach. Everyone had backed away, trying to avoid getting hurt. I punched Jeff hard in the face. He only laughed at me, mocking any attack I made so far. It was to the point where we both were getting tired, and our moves were weak. At that moment, I felt tentacles wrap around my body, pulling me away from him. I struggled shaking my head in protest. I saw Natalie rush over to Jeff, who wiped some blood from a cut on his forehead. I watched him shove her away and try to get to me as I was pulled away in another room. This was the final straw.
Jeff POV
I was held back by Laughing Jack. The more I resisted, the harder he seemed to laugh. Natalie stared at me, concerned. I looked away.
"Oh my gosh you're hurt." She ran over to get first aid and bandaged up my cut. BEN only looked at me disapprovingly, shaking his head every once in a while. Sally hid behind him, peeking only to hide again.
"I need to go."
"No stay here, wait for Slenderman to come back. He probably has something to say to you." BEN said, putting a hand on my shoulder. I wondered what he was saying to Jane. Dumb bitch. The doors to the ballroom burst open, Jane running through them. Slenderman was behind her. She grabbed my hand and pulled me along as we burst through one of the windows out the door. We both fell to the ground and got up quickly. Jane started bolting towards the trees. I followed.
"What are you doing?!" I yelled. She didn't answer me and kept running. We were well towards the edge of the edge of the woods by now. She finally stopped and whipped around.
"He was going to hurt us."
"Huh?"
"Slenderman was going to punish us. I was saving our sorry asses."
"Thanks, I guess." She glared at me.
"You guess? Maybe I should have left you back there. Natalie might've convinced Slenderman to spare you." She said bitterly.
"What do you have against Natalie?"
"Isn't it a bit slutty to make out with a guy right after you confess?" She hissed. Natalie was certainly not a slut. And Jane didn't need to act like that in the first place. It's not like sit was he business.
"It's not your personal business anyways. Why do you even care?" She wouldn't answer me, only pissing me off more. "Tell me-" Jane cut me off grabbing me by my sweatshirt strings and pressing her lips against mine hard.
