"You said you took your meds."

The accusatory and hurt tone of her Aunt Jenna used was the first thing Lois heard when she came to.

If Lois hadn't already been feeling sick to her stomach, then she definitely was now. It appeared that Aunt Jenna had even brought the little orange bottle with her to back up her claim. Lois wasn't sure how Aunt Jenna could tell, as she was sure that she had been taking the correct number of pills out of the container each day. She even thought her hiding places were good, but Jenna hadn't mentioned that yet. Instead, she was shaking the pills around in the orange container aggressively, as if it was a personal tune to which she could berate her niece to.

Lois feebly swiped at the container in an attempt to get Aunt Jenna to stop making such a racket. Lois could quickly feel a migraine coming on and the irritating noise was not helping the situation.

"Aunt Jenna, please," Lois cried out, her voice raspy, again closing her eyes as Jenna continued to wave the bottle around. Just the sight of Jenna's aura was enough to make Lois throw up, the vivid colours flashing indignantly, as it making fun of her.

"I knew it was a mistake sending you back to school, but," Jenna paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "Lois, you didn't even make it through your first class. If it has got that bad again, why didn't you tell me?"

Lois slowly opened her eyes, mumbling incoherently.

"I wouldn't have gone to that stupid presentation if you'd just told me how you felt-"

"Aunt Jenna, that presentation was important! It was with your thesis advisor." Lois rebutted pathetically.

"You clearly don't know me very well if you think anything is more important than this family." Jenna stated, her tone almost snarky.

Lois didn't have a response. She moved back against the pillows, the action making her realise she didn't recognise her surroundings.

Suddenly alert, Lois flew upright, the heart monitor beside her suddenly beeping erratically. Looking around, Lois began to panic, "Are we in the hospital, Jenna?"

Jenna went to place her hands on Lois' shoulders to force her back onto the bed, but Lois wriggled out of her reach and attempted to slide off the bed.

"Lois, stop!" Jenna called out, alarmed at her reaction.

"I want to go home, Jenna! I don't want to be here!" Lois was frantic now, there was something about the hospital that just set her nerves on fire. She began pulling the hospital machinery off of her and was about to remove the IV drip from the back of her hand when a pair of strong arms wrapped round her shoulders and haltered her movement. Lois didn't know whether her Aunt had called the nurses in or whether they'd heard the commotion from the corridor, but the immediate onslaught of visions had Lois thrashing frantically. She didn't want anyone to touch her, the thrum of energy and images she received immediately making her stomach turn and she cried out again.

"No! No! Please let go, please!"

Lois sounded small, tired and scared. Her whole body shook with adrenaline and fear as she fought to break free from the male nurses' hold. She clearly wasn't a match for his strength as he forced her back into the bed, grabbing her arm as two other nurses held her legs flat against the bed.

"No! No! What are you doing? Let me go!" Lois panicked, realising the nurse was inserting a needle into her arm. The effects of the injection were almost immediate as Lois' brain felt sluggish and she struggled to maintain control of her limbs.

Aunt Jenna had backed away from the bed, a look of deep concern across her face.

"I'm sorry, Lo. I really am, but it's for your own good." Jenna whispered, pushing back the strands of stray hair that had fallen onto Lois' face.

Lois tried to reply, but it came out a mumble of incoherent words. It wasn't long until Lois found her body relaxing beyond her control and she fell back against the pillows.
