I've Been There For You Longer - Diavolo x Barbatos Angst (Obey Me)

Chapter 2 - The Reunited Fall

'That must've been a heavy hit. Welcome to the Devildo- oh-.' Diavolo's eyes widened. That's it he lost his hope of having a lover. He never even had a chance anyways as he loved both Barbatos and Lucifer but out of them both, Lucifer would be the only option for it to not be forced or one-sided. 

Barbatos took a photo of the two in this position for blackmail. He was waiting for this to happen. He looked over to Diavolo to find his face in despair, which was quickly covered with a plastered smile. Barbatos remembered Diavolo's love for Lucifer. He could imagine how heartbroken he currently was.

They finally broke their kiss, still connected by a strand of saliva. 'Uh Lucifer-.' Both Lucifer and the familiar figure in a different outfit turned red looking at Diavolo and Barbatos, both realising they've been caught.

'Uh- its- uh- not what it- uh- looks like-.' The familiar figure in a different outfit tried covering up for Lucifer, worrying about the punishment to await them.

Diavolo laughed off his thoughts, finding how cute it was for them to cover up their relationship. 'It's perfectly fine. I hope your relationship lasts forever with happiness.' They both sighed in relief, glad that Diavolo accepted them. 'So how does it feel to be a demon Simeon?'

'Well from the first impressions it's quite relaxing, nobody tells you what to do or where you can go.' The familiar figure in a different outfit replied to his question. His head now had a pair of horns shaped like deer antlers, a Pom Pom tail on his lower back, a pair of large wings drooped from behind to not use much energy keeping them up.

'Say you wanted to become a higher ranking angel so why don't you join the RAD school council?' Diavolo wanted Lucifer to be with Simeon for as much as he can. This was the most he could offer for them to be together whilst achieving a different way of Simeon's dream. 'Don't worry there won't be any harsh rules like not being able to go out wherever you want.'

'I can confirm to that, Diavolo is much more laid back than Michael. But if you don't want to it's your opinion.' Barbatos also knew they needed more people in the student council anyways and understood Simeon's dream of becoming a higher ranking angel which he was not able to fulfill.

'Why would I not accept? The student exchange has been amazing so I'm sure being in the school council will too.'

'Ah that's great, we finally have a new member!' Diavolo was also glad to finally have a new member in the student council, one he didn't actually force for the first time.'Barbatos please get the letters for the student council application.' Barbatos nodded and guided them inside to sign the papers. Now Simeon was officially part of them. Lucifer and Simeon decided to go back to the House of Lamentation to greet Lucifer's brothers in his new form, leaving Barbatos and Diavolo alone.

Diavolo bit his lip to hold back the tears. 'I think I should get back to paperwork.' Barbatos being the butler he was, being able to see through anything, hugged Diavolo,

Diavolo burst into tears, nuzzling his face into Barbatos's shoulder. 'It's okay. I'm sure you'll find someone else.' 

'I've been so greedy for all my life. Why did I have hopes for getting with Lucifer? He's always been there for me, but Simeon's been with him longer.'

'I've always been there for you. Longer than he has. Love at first sight doesn't always work out anyways, there's always another person much better. They don't even need to be your lover.'

'What would I do without you? I'm so sorry I forced you into our friendship that I treat you like my slave, only to run back to you whenever I need help.'

'That's not true. I would've been gone after a week if I didn't like you. It is also my duty to be there for you and I love my duties. I've always wanted to serve you.' Barbatos sat down and started rocking Diavolo, calming him down. 'You must be tired from crying. Please rest well, Diavolo.' Diavolo closed his eyes, whimpering. He started falling into a deep sleep.

 Shortly after confirming Diavolo was asleep, Barbatos  burst into silent tears himself. As much as he didn't want him to get with someone else, he didn't want Diavolo to be heartbroken; he just didn't deserve it, he's always been there for him. He always helped Lucifer and everyone else out and even gifted his valuable luxuries. How could Lucifer not take the hint and fall in love with Diavolo? Barbatos's tears finally subsided, knocking out with his head buried into Diavolo's neck.
