Chapter 3 - Feeding Macarons

Diavolo woke up again, this time in his bed instead of back in Barbatos's arms which he knocked out in. On his desk was another cup of tea with some Madam Scream's Macarons. Barbatos was doing some paperwork for Diavolo, as his mood was down and was going to remain like that for a long time.

'I'm glad you're awake again, Diavolo.' Barbatos shot a small smile at Diavolo, trying to brighten up the mood. Barbatos was finding the change of formalities hard but if it was what Diavolo wanted, he'd do it. 'Please have a snack. I thought you'd like a change to macarons instead of cake or biscuits.'

'This is more like you trying to convince me macarons are better isn't it?' Diavolo still took a macaron and chewed it down, savouring the flavour. 'Please share these with me and I mean have several, not just one.'

Barbatos tried hiding his excitement to have the macarons but didn't work. He munched on some as fast as he could to make sure he got most of them, leaving some for Diavolo. 'My apologies for eating so rudely.' A tint of red appeared on Barbatos's face, embarrassed how comfortable he got with eating macarons so quickly in front of Diavolo. 

'Feel free to take the full box. I know they're your favourite.' Diavolo pushed the box more towards Barbatos, he became more flustered as to whether to take it or not.

'I- uh it's- okay I've had enough.' At least he could still form somewhat a sentence.

'Cmon I know you want them. Don't make me feed you' Diavolo whined.

'I'm still not having it. Yes it is your request but it is a very impolite one.' Barbatos shook his head away and pushed the box towards Diavolo. 

Diavolo gave up and sighed, 'Alright then you win.' He grabbed a macaron and shoved it into Barbatos's mouth with a grin. 'It's in your mouth now so swallow.' Barbatos chewed down on the macaron and swallowed as it would be a waste to spit it out and nobody could have it. 

'That's it no more macarons. No more anything.' Barbatos covered his mouth with his hand to prevent Diavolo's attempts.

'Here comes the airplaneeeee~ say aaaaaaaah~.' Diavolo took another macaron from the box and made airplane noises, crashing into Barbatos's hand.

'You're like Solomon, forcing down his food into our mouths when it tastes disgusting.' Barbatos's words were a bit muffled to Diavolo.

'What's that? I didn't hear you.' Diavolo planned his next attempt to feed Barbatos.

Barbatos removed his hand to repeat, 'I said-.' Barbatos was silenced as Diavolo put another Macaron in his mouth.

'I think I remember what you said. There's no need to repeat.' Diavolo shot another grin at Barbatos as he swallowed the Macaron in his mouth.

'I can't believe I'm being so childish right now.'

'A bit of fun doesn't hurt now does it?' Even after being heartbroken there was always other ways to enjoy life. Diavolo loved messing around and being a child around the people he loved. It was his way of showing his love and trust.

'If I want macarons, I'll take them myself. You don't have to feed me them.' Barbatos aggressively shoved another macaron in his mouth as evidence that he can feed himself.

'Awwww is Barbs embarrassed that he's been fed by another person?' Diavolo teased, making Barbatos turn to being a tomato.

'Barbs? You give people nicknames?' It was a stupid question but it still slipped out.

'Yes it's how you can get closer to people.' Diavolo just wanted to get over his phase and get closer to his best friend. It's not as if he was starting to grow more feelings towards Barbatos instead of Lucifer. Even so it'd just be platonic like it's always been.

'So if i call you... Dia, would I get closer to you?' Barbatos liked the idea of getting closer with Diavolo, then he'd be able to ask him out, hoping he still didn't have feelings for Lucifer.

'That's a cute nickname Barbs.' Diavolo chuckled. 'I'm glad you made my day.'

'You also made today much happier for me.' Barbatos remembered the paperworks and jobs needed to be done today. 'I should get back to work.' He dashed off with a smile on his face, proud of making Diavolo's day.
