YOU ALL RUN THROUGH THE TREES, INTO A SMALL AREA WHERE YOU GOT A FULL VIEW OF THE WHOMPING WILLOW.
"look. it's lupin" hermione points out, you blink, this must have been just before he stopped harry killing sirius.
"immobulus!" you hear him shout, causing the whomping willow to stop flailing before ducking into the whole.
"and snape's coming" you point out as snape also ducks into the hole.
"and now we wait" harry says.
hermione nods, "and now we wait"
you all sit down against the tree, hermione turns to you, "aren't you cold?"
you shrug, "eh"
after a while of sitting, a horde of bats come flying over your heads.
you shield your hair.
"at least someone's enjoying himself" hermione says, you look back to buckbeak who was catching all the bats he could.
"yeah"
harry looks down, "hermione, [name]?"
you both look to him, "yeah?"
"before, down by the lake, when i was with sirius.. i did see someone. that someone made the dementors go away"
"with a patronus. i heard snape telling dumbledore. according to him... only a really powerful wizard could have conjured it"
"it was my dad" harry smiles, you purse your lips.
"it was my dad who conjured the patronus"
"harry, your-your dads-" "dead. i know" he snaps, "i'm just telling you what i saw"
you look to the side.
"here we come"
you all stand up again.
"you see sirius talking to me there? he's asking me to come live with him"
you smile slightly, "that's great, harry"
"when we free him i'll never have to go back to the dursleys'. it'll just be me and him" you smile softly, noting how he'd already forgotten what he had said to you back before hogsmeade. not that you were upset, it was great he had family who loved him. he deserved it, you would feel only guilt if you were upset about it, so you pushed even any single twinge of sadness to the back of your mind, scolding yourself for being so selfish.
"we could live in the country.. someplace you could see the sky. i think he'll like that after all those years in azkaban"
but all your attention goes back to where your past selves were standing as lupin howls loudly.
"let's go" harry says as lupin and sirius start to attack eachother.
you run through, peeking through another thing of bushes a bit behind lupin and the others.
harry throws the rock at lupin and you watch nervously as he approaches him, but is disrupted by the same loud howl. you blink,
ohhhh. so it was hermione who did that
harry tries stopping her, "what are you doing?"
"saving your life"
she howls again, cupping her hands around her mouth to make the sound louder.
"thanks"
but you pause as werewolf lupin starts running straight at you all, "right. and now he's coming for us"
"yeah, i didn't think about that. run!"
you all run away as lupin is hot on your tail.
swerving through trees you all run off, harry trips over branch.
you both help him up, dragging him over and behind a tree.
you breathe quietly, peeking out and seeing lupin looking around for you all.
you slowly and as quietly as possible move around to the other side of the tree, out of lupin's sight.
after believing he was mostly gone, you all back out from the tree, facing it and watching as to make sure he doesn't pop out.
but you all pause as a low growling is heard from behind you, slowly turning around, you all hug each other as lupin gets up on his hind legs, ready to attack you.
but you and hermione shriek as buckbeak jumps in, waving his talons around and scaring lupin away.
you breathe out heavily.
"that was so scary" hermione covers her face, you nod.
"poor professor lupin's having a really tough night" harry says.
but feeling the skin on on your legs go cold and the wind start to pick up, you all glance upwards. you frown deeply.
a giant wave of dementors were swooping down over to the lake where harry and sirius were found.
"sirius. come on!"
you all run off, over to the lake.
the dementors were flying down, each taking turns of sucking out the happiness.
"this is horrible" hermione says.
"don't worry. my dad will come. he'll conjure the patronus" harry says eagerly, "any minute now"
but as the dementors continued to swoop in, your frown became deeper.
"right there. you'll see" he points over to a muddy bit of ground in front of you all.
you shake your head, "harry, nobody's coming..."
"don't worry, he will. he will come"
"sirius"
"you're dying.. both of you" hermione says.
you blink as harry runs forward, "harry!"
he brings his wand out, pointing it upwards.
"expecto patronum!!" he shouts, a bright light comes from his wand, pushing all the dementors back and away.
your eyes go wide,
it wasn't his dad. it was harry...
