Frisk awoke suddenly to the sound of what seemed like total panic. They could hear Toriel shouting from the living room, and they heard the frantic stomping of their sister's boots, almost like she was trying to catch something. They hopped out of the bed and opened the door to leave their room, but was suddenly tackled to the ground, their vision blurred by white fuzz.

"Get back here!" shouted Magic, sounding frustrated.

Frisk rubbed their eyes and looked at the creature sitting right on their lap. It looked like no monster they had encountered so far, but rather more like a little white pomeranian. The tiny human patted the pup curiously on the head, to which the quadruped animal nuzzled their palm, wagging its tail with vigor. Just then, the pursuing footsteps hit the dog's ears as it scampered out of Frisk's lap, hoping to hide behind the child despite being just too plump.

"There it is!" exclaimed Magic as she skidded to a halt at their door, calling, "Toriel, I found it!"

The canine quickly ran left towards the wall. At first, Frisk thought it was just going to huddle up in the corner in a frightened panic, but to their shock (and Magic's), the dog somehow managed to faze in through the wall, making its escape.

"Are you kidding me!? Did it just go through the wall..?!" shouted the older human, running her fingers through her hair in a frenzied rage, "It's a dog, how did it manage that?!"

By the time Toriel had made her way over, the canine had plopped out of the wall and retreated into the Ruins. Who knew the whereabouts of that canine now. Frisk turned to the goat woman apologetically as she tried to catch her breath, slowly recuperating as she gently hushed the tiny human's apologies with a wave of her paw.

"Please do not worry, my child," she said, "it's not your fault it got away… I should've warned you both that might happen."

"Do you know that mutt or something?" Magic asked, quirkking her eyebrow.

"Unfortunately, yes. I am very well acquainted with that dog." Toriel turned her attention to the front door where the dog had fled, "Nobody knows where it came from, or even if it has a name; the residents just started calling it the 'Annoying Dog'. It seems to appear at rather inconvenient times in the most bizarre locations. I recall once it leapt out of the wall to startle a group of Froggit simply out of boredom."

Frisk tilted their head questioningly at this information. Why would the Annoying Dog prank the other monsters like that? Assuming it was another monster and not a usual dog just wanting to play around and such. Wait, were there even normal surface animals in the Underground?

"This wouldn't be the first time that dog's sparked some grievances within me." Toriel sighed, almost radiating with a burning aura that signified her unbridled rage towards the canine.

Frisk looked up at their sister, waving one arm to get her attention. When she looked over, they began to sign something. They looked very determined to help catch the Annoying Dog.

"You wanna go looking for that thing?" Magic asked, making Toriel look over, "I don't see the problem with it… we've gone through the Ruins on our own once before, we might as well do it again to catch that mutt."

"Oh, children, you don't have to do that, really…" Toriel tried to sway them.

"No, we really do have to." Magic argued, "That little pest stole your phone. If we don't get it back, how will you be able to contact us if you're away on an errand?"
