Frisk made their way out of the shop after purchasing some much needed items for the journey ahead. With 33G remaining in their pocket, three Cinnamon Buns, and a Bisicle to share with their sister (should they need some extra sustenance for the journey ahead) stashed away in their convenient little pouch, they waved goodbye to the shopkeeper; a nice bunny monster who wore very casual-looking clothing despite living in such a brutal winter climate. How she wasn't completely freezing in a t-shirt and shorts was beyond the human child's comprehension, and that summer hat sure didn't help.

Magic waited just outside the door, in a much more pleasant mood than she was about a half hour ago when they were confronting the two skeletons. A bright smile gleamed on her face as she scanned their surroundings, feeling comforted by the sight of the locals running around, placing presents under the nearby tree like it was actually the holiday season. It filled her with a warm, fuzzy feeling she couldn't shake aside, even if she wanted to.

"Why can't surface people live like this?" Magic asked, "Imagine how much greater the world could be if humans took to life as graciously as these monsters…"

"I thought you'd know something more about that than just asking me." the little human signed to her.

Magic's smile fidgeted slightly, threatening to curl into a frown as she replied anxiously, "Well, just because I'm older, doesn't mean I'm always gonna be wiser… I wish I could figure out how other humans work… unfortunately, I'm not a mind-reader, so I have no clue what's going on inside anybody's head but my own."

"Maybe you should use that knowledge to stop yourself from making bad decisions." Frisk signed, a smug little grin plastered on their face.

The older human furrowed her brow slightly at her sibling's comment, glaring down at them as they giggled silently at her reaction. Aside from her twitchy eyebrow, she had this strained smile, making her look like she was using all her willpower not to hurl a snowball at them.

"Oh, so that's the thanks I get for keeping you safe all this time? I suppose you could confront Papyrus better than I could." she responded with a hint of sarcasm.

"And how!" Frisk replied, beaming with confidence and assurance. They tried to make themselves look as tall as their sister by standing on their tippy toes, hands on their hips all sassy-like, but they got clumsy and had to regain their balance before they fell face-first onto the snow. Magic couldn't deny how adorable they looked in their attempt. It made her grumpiness melt away as an amused smile threatened to take over her features.

"Okay, okay. That's enough trying to imitate your big sister," she patted them on the head, ruffling their hair a bit, "I know you like it when I'm dramatic, but don't you try to copy me now, you hear?"

Frisk giggled as they signed in response, "I know, I know."

The two humans started to make their way to the other side of Snowdin Town, passing the magic igloo that Sans told them about earlier. It wasn't that they wouldn't appreciate a good shortcut, but the one thing Sans neglected to mention was that the igloo entrances were only big enough for children and small adults. Magic wasn't exactly as tall as Papyrus, but she wasn't that much shorter than him either (the top of her head was at chin level with the taller skeleton). She tried to crawl into the entrance with her sibling before, but struggled to fit comfortably without burying herself in the snow beneath her. If she had lowered her body any further, she would have taken in a mouthful of the cold, white slush. Ultimately, Frisk decided it would be better if they just passed on the shortcut. They didn't want to have to go through that mess again.

On the way towards the Snowdin exit point, which led into the next area of the Underground, it seemed the further they traveled from town, the more the snow falling around them grew. How weather even happened in the Underground, they didn’t know for sure. Frisk felt their body growing numb from how cold it was getting. They had, at this point, adjusted to Snowdin's naturally cold climate, but with this harsh wind and constant snowfall whipping all around them, it practically made icicles form out of the end strands of their hair. Magic noticed their shivering form and took Frisk’s hand in her own, providing some extra warmth so they wouldn’t get frostbite on their fingers.
