With the mid season finale of The Ancestors coming up, filming was gearing up for the last half of the first season. The first half of the season held such an intense storyline that the directors had brought 13 episodes to fruition. Emi and the rest of the cast were busy as ever, promoting their show and being featured in different forms of media. Each cast member took to being at fan events. The biggest surprise was the international fandom that had sprung up.

Emi was booked solid during her 3 month break from filming the show. She was being featured in many Korean media outlets.

As Emi prepared for her stay back in Korea, she began brushing up on her Korean more and more everyday as well as reading over the itinerary that Lia had planned out for her.

"Em, what do you think about the last month there?" Lia asked as she held her tablet and pen close by.

"It looks like an actual break and I see that you got to speak with Teacher Kim."

"She said that you made an impression on her and her team. I figured you wouldn't push through with it, so I made the decision for you." Emi laughed at Lia's callout to her predictability. Emi had been so focused on work and training that being at 1Million Dance Studio would not have even crossed her mind during her break.

"I got you half a day of free time before our flight. Go have some fun, you deserve it, Em. Also, no training at all. All the trainers and fight choreographers have gone home for their breaks as well. So you've been cut off thoroughly."

"You amaze me. Don't worry. I am going out with the cast later and might surprise C at his filming location before leaving for 3 months." Lia nodded at the sentiment and Emi's priority to visit Charles before leaving for so long.

As Lia thought of it, even though these two had different filming schedules and locations, Emi and Charles always made it a point to see one another at least once a week. Lia often thought about having a relationship with someone, but she knew she was not ready for something like that, even though she was older than Emi. Her life had not brought her anyone that stood out in a romantic way. During their free nights, Lia talked to Emi about how it felt being in a relationship and feared relationships too, whenever she asked about the reason Emi and her ex parted ways. One thing that always rang through her head after her talks with Emi was: "Lia, your expectations are going to be thrown out the window whenever this person comes. Just go along with the adventure."

Lia hopped on a call with several Korean media representatives to hash out all the details she could and some future plans for Emi's career. There were so many things to think about but that thought of being with someone always snuck into her head.

Charles had been calling Emi during his free time, hoping to catch her before she left for Korea. Emi was very vocal about being about to promote and film a few things there. However, he did not get any sort of message or call back, which concerned him. It was not like her to not respond or reply. It was sort of routine for them to speak every day, ever since they both got phones.

Charles: Em, text me back when you get a chance. I wanna make sure you are prepared for Korea.

He sent the text and waited for his call time.

"Charles, why do you look like you're about to be forgotten? I bet you she is knocked out. You know how it is when we all get breaks from filming," JJ, the main star of the show, advised him. JJ could not help but giggle every time Charles checked his phone.

By the time Charles started to prepare for his scene, he had to hide his worry. His scene required him to tell off a group of extras for vandalizing the local diner. The extras were all seated on the bikes with their leader hidden in the shadows.
