The attention on the case and the show had died down. There was peace that washed over Emi as she walked to a cafe she used to frequent when she was still working in the speech therapy career field.

It was great to just sit and watch a small performance. As much as she wanted to dance again and feel that exhilaration she felt when dancing in Korea, she knew she was not there. Charles was adamant that she was going to get to that point again.

But Emi knew that it would not be the same. Whether it was a good change or one that needed to be processed, it was something that she felt was in limbo at this point. All this reflection happened as the barista brought her a chai latte. She took a sip and an advertisement for the Ancestors plays on a nearby screen. It advertised the second season with her castmates rocking their new looks.

The past two months were filled with decisions on her career and where she wanted to go next. Emi had spoken to Lia and Kai about this. She spoke with both Daniels and they all agreed that she cannot rejoin the series at this moment. It would not be in the capacity she wanted to be in. From that decision, the feeling of limbo was setting in. She was anxiously sipping her drink and running through many scenarios, until she felt a tap on her shoulder.

"Emi, hey, it is you. How are you?" Mina, a former writer from the Ancestors, recognized her from the stage.

"Oh Mina, it's great seeing you. I did not know you played here. I should come here more often." Emi invited Mina to sit before her next set.

"What brought you over here? I don't think I've seen you here before."

"I used to go here before I got hired on the Ancestors, but it was a quick grab and go."

"Oh well, I'm glad I spotted you. How are you doing? You seemed a little lost when you got your drink."

"It's just been a lot since I made the decision to leave the show. No obstacles or anything. It was the easiest process, but it feels like a weight has been added on."

"I know that feeling. I think you made the right decision for yourself. Plus you probably opened a door for yourself, you just can't see it yet. How about Charles? I've seen him around here helping you out."

"He's back to work. Lakeview started filming again and they can't push his filming off any longer. I told him that he can't take care of me forever."

"I bet that made him really sad. I saw him come here a few times to grab you a few things. He seemed to really enjoy being around you."

"Yeah, it's been great to be able to be so close to him again. I guess that's why I feel so uneasy too. We've been next to one another for more than half a year. The last time we were like this was our college years before he started his modeling career. But I am super happy to see him acting again."

"He's a great guy. I'm glad you have one another. Oh random question, would you mind singing a couple songs for our set in a bit? You can totally have your phone out since it's so last minute. We are doing a sort of throwback day today."

"Oh, I haven't sung anything in so long."

"That's not what Lia told me. She stopped by here a couple of days ago and saw me playing. She said that you've been singing in your basement as construction was going on. There was also some guitar playing."

"And here is me thinking I was alone when I fixed up the studio." Emi eventually stood up and headed to the back to speak with the rest of the band. Emi discovered that Mina would also sing some sets, but they needed someone with a higher voice to sing some requests tonight.

"Sure, I can do my best. Again, I am a bit rusty and haven't played guitar in front of anyone. Not to this capacity." Mina was excited as most of their guitar playing had to be accompanied by a recording of the guitar solos.
