I was with my great grandpa Henry I call him granpop, while everyone else worked. Apparently I can't be trusted alone. "So how was your adventure across the country" he asked "good I saw dad" "oh yeah how was that" "well he didn't come and see before I came back so" "you know your uncle Danny ran away" I pause eating and look at him in utter shock "really" I take a bit of the sandwich he made me "than again he is most likely to" I add shrugging causing him to laugh "your uncle Joey found him first your grandpa was so mad your grandmother was the one who brought him back" he told me "where did he go" "can't tell our runaway that" he said leading me to the couch to sit down.
We were all sitting around the table for the Reagan weakly family dinner. "So how was Chicago" Uncle Danny asks "you went to Chicago" Jack asks excited "how was it" Sean asks "can we not talk about that" mum asks "yeah cause if we do we're going to have to talk about uncle Danny's time he did it" i muse smirking "ok who spilled the beans" Uncle Danny asks looking around "why does she get the details and I didn't" Jamie asks "we won't talk about that at family dinner" grandpa said well more like demanded "but after is ok right" I ask making him sigh but nod "yes I'm going to figure it out" "oh your on shorty" uncle Danny said smirking right back at me "can I be in on this as well" "sure" I shrug "so any plan for this weekend after church" grandpa asks "probably hang out with you" I said shrugging making him smile at me "ok favourite grandchild" uncle Danny said rolling his eyes "hey what about me we went to the ball" Nicky said "congratulations Erin you made dad's favourite grandchildren" "come on uncle Danny no need to be jealous" I said "we both know we're just cool" Nicky said making us laugh "also Jamie's kids will probably be the favourite" I add shrugging "he is the favourite excluding golden Erin of course" Uncle Danny informed us.
It had been a week. Mum had relaxed she didn't seem like she was going to kill me constantly. I also wasn't been hovered over constantly. Nicky and I were laying on my bed talking. "What was it really like" "it was weird dad I don't know" she nods. It had always been the three of us since forever. Nicky and I kinda bonded over our dads not being there much. "Joey" mum calls making me get up and skip down the steps "Jay" I yell practically tackling him in a hug. "Told you I would come didn't I" he told me hugging him tight "your a cop I learnt long ago not to hold hope for hanging out with you and my uncles there are cases you need to solve" "now you make me feel like I should leave" he gasps holding his heart frantically.
I had spent the day with Jay showing him New York. "Promise to show me Chicago" "promise you'll love it" he told me making me smile. I was in the living room. I could hear Jay and mum talking about how I ran away. "Let her visit" "I'm not letting him parent her he doesn't" "I know I know he hasn't been there" "he told me how she doesn't listen" "so let her stay with me" "you know I won't let anything happen to her she's my shark Finn" "Jay" "He made the whole speech to me about how he regrets it so I know I I think seeing her made him realise how much of a dick his been" "I'm not just going to pass her of to him" "me not him let her stay with me" "Jay" "just listen she ran away because she missed us maybe letting her visit isn't a bad idea" I hear her sigh "his not in charge" "I am" he nods "does this mean I'm going to Chicago" i ask "no it means I'll consider it" she said giving me a look I knew well. It basically told me not to push her anymore or it will be a no.
Jay was spending with Danny seeing as I had school. It was the afternoon and I was riding my skateboard through the streets. My vibrant hair flowing in all directions. Sirens behind me go off causing me to stop. "Joey Joey fancy seeing you here" I roll my eyes kicking the end of my skateboard making it bounce up. "Jamie Jamie anyone would think your stalking me" he just laughs "get in we'll drive you" "you don't even know where I'm going" "to see Danny" he questioned "fine" I sigh walking over getting in waving to his partner. I didn't know his partner not like I knew uncle Danny and uncle Joeys partners.
"Joey" uncle Danny said getting up walking over to me hugging me and kissing my head. "Hey Uncle Danny" I said smiling as I hug him back I walk over to his desk "hi Ava" his partner waves at me as she is on the phone. "So where's Jay" I ask looking around for him "he left his on a mission to convince your mum to let you visit Chicago" he informed me causing me to smile "what do you think" "I think if it stops you from running away to see them than sure" I nod pausing "why did dad pick Chicago over me" I look up at him "that I don't know wish I did for you" I nod my hair flopping "hey listen to me when we tell you this...it doesn't matter what he picked or where he is in this world. You have me there every step of the way" "and Jay" I add "what about me" Jamie said completely forgot he was here he went so quiet thought he left. "Well Jamie your more of a big brother to her" "yeah grandpop said a blind person could see that we act more like siblings he also said you always get me in trouble" "me the cop gets you in trouble...I personally think it's the other way around" "think most guilty people blame someone else" his radio goes off stopping him from saying anything to me. "I got to go talk later" I wave goodbye as he leaves. "Just me and you Joey" Danny said turning his chair "what about me" "of course how could anyone forget you Ava's here Joey" I laugh he brings another chair over slightly shoving me making me laugh.
