I was laying on the couch at Jays house. Jay had been talking to my family but I have yet to talk to them. I wasn't ready for the twenty questions. I was watching lion king I had love it since I was a little girl, it's also the only movie Jay had.
"Look I don't know what happened she won't say but there's clearly hand marks around her neck they squeezed hard enough to break her collarbone and leave busies. Her stomach was filled with blood from bad internal bleeding. A chipped bone in her food along with a broken ankle....Doc said it's a miracle she made it here" I hear Jay say from the other room it was a fifty fifty shot that it would be uncle Danny or my mum "no no let her stay she almost died getting here let her heal" I sigh cuddling into the pillow.
"Don't you have work" "you think I'll leave my injured niece alone your crazy" he said as he moved me gently so I had my head on his lap and he could actually sit down. He was careful not to hurt me and always made sure I wasn't hurt. "So a certain doctor said told me you snapped and said your dad isn't your dad" i sigh "his your dad Finn" "no" I sat up making pain instantly shoot through my body causing me to groan. "A dad is someone who's there no matter the distance they will help and fight for you and love you" "he loves you" "he loves his life away from me more you and uncle Danny are more like a dad to me" Jay sighs "can you tell me what happened"
His hands were around my neck as his friends beat me. I tried to fight but gasping for air made it incredibly hard. Someone rammed my head against the floor making everything go back.
"Shark Finn they can't hurt you" he said making me sigh "I know they are in New York" I said "if you tell me I can have Danny go pick them up so when you go back home they can't hurt you" I sigh "I don't know" "it's ok" "no Jay I don't know who they are" he sighs rubbing his face "alright how bout the anything defining or how many" I pause he was rubbing my side "four two on either side one by my shoulder and the last was at my head there could have been more I just remember four" "anything to help find them" he pushed I shake my head or try to it wasn't really much of a shake considering my broken collarbone. "Ok just know if you remember anything" "I can come to you I know" I smile adjusting so I could lay with my head on his chest.
"Jay let me see her" "it's her decision" I was leaning against the table. Dad couldn't see me but Jay could. Jay looks at me I shrug. I didn't care. He steps aside letting dad in. Dads eyes immediately go to mine. "I've so worried why haven't you been answering my calls or messages" he rushes over me, I step back "I haven't exactly talk to anyone" I said ignoring the hurt that washed over his face. "Are you staying" I shrug or shrug as best as I can with a broken collarbone. "Erin's getting here tomorrow we're going to go from there" Jay told him he nods "can I stay" I look at Jay "I don't care" I walk away I can hear him start to follow "don't" "she's my daughter" "you abandon her" "no I didn't" "before she showed up here when was the last time you spoke to her or even after she went back did you speak to her...you know she was suspended for hitting someone with her skateboard you know why she wanted you her dad she says she wants me as well but and yeah she probably does miss me but she wants her dad" I hear Jay say making me sigh.
"You were wrong" I tell Jay as I come out of the guest bedroom sitting beside him. I look around to see my dad gone should I be surprised, seems all his good at is leaving. "About what" he was watching the Blackhawks so I don't know if his actually listening to me or not. "About me wanting dad" when he doesn't react I start to wonder if he was actually paying attention. Uncle Danny and uncle Jamie along with Granpop are all so hard to get get their attention when sport is on or even a big case. "It's you" I see him freeze "and uncle Danny but mainly you you always call visit listen" he looks at me in utter shock I don't think I ever told him or even uncle Danny all of this "I love my dad but I left and never tried to call me or even visit and I called whenever mum was home I did she eventually stopped letting me because she hated seeing my disappointed face. I hated her for so long because I thought it was her keeping me from dad and she never once corrected me it was Grandpa that told me that dad wasn't answering or even coming to visit that it wasn't mums fault. I didn't believe him I heard it but it just seemed so impossible I don't know why it was until I was ten and uncle Jamie told me even let me call from his phone I did message who it was first. From that moment I knew mum had just being protecting me everyone had. I kinda let go a bit of course I called every once in a while. I don't know when it stopped calling I just did I figured that if be wanted to hear from me he would call his my father it shouldn't be my job" he hugs me "no it shouldn't...i am sorry about my brother" "don't be if dad wasn't how he is I wouldn't have you" he leans down kissing my head before he leans back watching the Blackhawks. "Should I go for the rangers" i ask I didn't really get all the rules of hockey but I did know the how they win, I had also seen my uncles watching the New York rangers on occasion. Jay gasps "no nope I will disown you" I laugh "I don't really get hockey baseball yess i watch the New York Yankees a lot...I also get football I watch the jets" "nope no nope we're going to make you a bears supporter a Blackhawks and maybe a white socks" "my uncles are going to kill you" laugh "ok I'll let them have Yankees but come on you have to love the bears and Blackhawks specifically Blackhawks" he complained making me laugh harder.
