"First years follow me!"yelled Hagrid the groundskeeper. Isabella recalled a few times her father had mentioned the half giant that went to school when her father had been. The Gryffindor was framed for opening the chamber by her father and therefore had gotten his wand snapped in his third year.

The girl barely glanced at him before walking away. But just before she walked towards the boats she noticed a head of messy charcoal hair sweep towards Hagrid and froze. It was Harry Potter. The chosen one. The boy who had supposedly defeated her father. He had made his way in front of Hagrid. Isabella had noticed a boy with flaming red hair following Harry around like a lost puppy. Definitely a Weasley. Another one?

Isabella got into the boat with Draco and Theo and almost instantly the boat gently floated across the lake towards the castle. As they neared the castle, gasps of shock filled the air and even Isabella had been in awe of the stunning castle and the majestic air it held.

Boat by boat, the new students staggered out of the boats and walked towards the castle. The caretaker Argus Filch was already standing there with his cat and a scowl sewn permanently on his face.

"Alright you little heathens, follow me."grumbled the old caretaker.

The crowd of first years strode through the ancient stone hallways and had been busy pointing out the different figures they recognised in the hundreds of thousands of paintings perfectly lined up on Hogwarts' walls. The children obediently walked up the stairs and waiting for them was a tall and thin woman with a pointy hat dressed in dark green robes. The stern looking lady looked at all of them with a serious expression and waited for all of them to quiet down before speaking.

"Welcome to Hogwarts. I'm professor McGonagall. Now, before you take a seat in the great hall. You must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. While you are here, your house will be like your family. Good behaviour will be rewarded, any wrongdoing and you will lose said points."said the professor before walking into the hall and telling them to wait at the stairwell.

"So it's true then, Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts."claimed Draco loudly

Whispers and gasps filled the echoing staircase. Harry glared up at Draco as he made fun of Weasley and tried to befriend Harry. Isabella stood next to Draco and ran her eyes up and down Harry with a cold expression. He had black hair like her with brilliant green eyes and a pair of round glasses. The boy beside him had a head of red hair and old, worn out looking robes. Weasley noticed her standing next to Draco and raking her eyes at them.

"And is this one of your minions Malfoy? She has the same ugly expression as you."declared Weasley in a disgusted tone

Isabella's expression went from neutral to one of rage and danger as she glared daggers at the redhead. The girl walked until she was standing right in front of the Weasley boy before smirking and glancing at him disgustedly.

"You're going to regret saying that."declared Isabella in a low tone

The Weasley didn't seem to believe her however Isabella wasn't worried. She'll prove to him just how serious she is. Before the four of them could utter a word, McGonagall was back and instructed the first years to follow her into the great hall.

Isabella sent Weasley one last lethal glare before turning around and gliding towards the great hall. Students with different coloured ties sat at 4 different tables. All eyes fell on the new pupils and the great hall started to quiet down almost instantly. But all Isabella could focus on was the man who sat on a throne like chair at the head of the staff table. The man had long silver hair and beard with a pair of half moon shaped spectacles dressed head to toe in deep purple robes with the pattern of stars embroidered on it.
Albus Dumbledore.
The man who killed her mother.
The one who had taken away her father's happiness.
He was sitting there with a grandfatherly smile and warm eyes but all the girl could see was lies. How could someone who has taken so much from her and her father be kind? There was no way she would fall for his façade. She would peel that mask off and show everyone who the real monster is.

Draco had already been sorted to Slytherin to nobody's surprise while the Weasley and the mudblood girl she'd met on the train were sorted to Gryffindor. It was now The Boy Who Lived's turn, the black haired girl can practically feel the intense stares and curiosity radiating off of everyone in the hall. The boy seemed to be having a conversation with the sorting hat and perhaps an argument? There seemed to be a little more back and forth before the hat loudly announced that Harry Potter had been sorted into Gryffindor. The lion's table cheered loudly and clapped for their new famous housemate. A few more names were called before Isabella heard hers

"Isabella Rosier!"called Professor McGonagall which lead to an air of confusion floating about the room. The girl noticed that even Dumbledore had slightly perked at her name. However, she paid them no attention and strutted forward with her head held high just like how her father had taught her. If you hold yourself with the confidence of someone who belongs, then no one will think you don't.

Isabella proudly sat on the stool and felt all eyes on her as Professor McGonagall put the hat on her head. However, before the hat could even touch her hat, the hat yelled loudly for all to hear

"SLYTHERIN"

The girl smirked and got up to walk to her house table while she heard polite applause in the background. She took a seat next to Draco and watched the other students get sorted. She could feel Dumbledore watching her and just in case, she immediately closed her mind to prevent the old man from reading her mind. Usually the art of occlumency was hard even for the best of wizards but since her father had insisted that she should practice until her mind was nearly impenetrable, it was fairly easy for her. Surely enough, she soon felt a small poke at the back of her mind. The feeling of someone trying to get into her mind. Isabella smiled to herself at her success at keeping Dumbledore from her mind. Not long after, the table has filled with food and drinks and everyone dug into their meals. The black haired girl felt Dumbledore's eyes burning holes in the back of her head.

"First year Slytherins follow me. Don't push! Right this way."announced the Slytherin prefect that was leading them to their dorms.

While following, Isabella stopped for a moment to admire a particular painting that she liked. Except she has been admiring too long and hadn't noticed that the rest of the students had left without her. Isabella wasn't too worried since she already knew where the Slytherin common room was. Of course she knew, she was Slytherin's heiress after all.

"Miss Rosier, is it? What are you doing her all alone? Are you lost?"said a calm voice from behind her

Isabella whirled around and her eyes landed on the man in purple in front of her. Dumbledore. The young Slytherin ignored the anger at the man before and simmered down before she took a breath and smiled a small yet polite smile towards her mother's murderer.

"I'm quite alright professor, thank you for your concern. And I'm not lost, I noticed a painting that I thought was extra beautiful. Terribly sorry sir, I'll go to the common room now."replied the girl calmly

"Wonderful my dear, however before you leave, I would just like to know, who exactly are your parents? Forgive me for asking, but surely you understand my confusion since to my knowledge the Rosier line has ended here in Britain."questioned the teacher while looking at her through his half moon spectacles

Isabella inwardly rolled her eyes "Of course professor, I understand the confusion. My father and I moved here when I was one from France to inherit the properties and money that was left here in Britain. My father works at the Ministry of Magic, Thomas Rosier? You might had be heard of him. My mother however passed away while giving birth to me. So I have never met her."lied the Slytherin through her teeth, desperately wanting to walk away. Or kill him. Whichever came first.

"Ah, apologies for asking my child. You may go now. You have to be well rested for your first day of classes."replied Dumbledore

Isabella bid him goodnight before leaving for her common room. Dumbledore watched as the girl left, hair flowing behind her effortlessly as she went.

"There is something strange about her. And I shall find out about it soon enough."surmised the man before walking towards his office. Questions about the mysterious Slytherin girl floating around in his head as he walked.
