The house colours had always been flaunted like fancy new jewellery but on this day, Isabella was practically drowning in the four colours the moment she stepped into the Great Hall.

It was the day of the first quidditch match of the year; and to say that everyone was excited was an understatement. Students from every year were dressed in their house colours from head to toe. The quidditch teams were huddled together, exchanging last minute strategies and words of encouragement.

Even Isabella, who didn't like quidditch much, couldn't help but get a little excited and was even wearing her Slytherin jumper to show her support. She sat down next to Draco, who barely acknowledged her and instead continued to glare at Potter; who was sitting at the Gryffindor table staring at his breakfast.

"Get over it will you, Draco? Potter will most likely get hit by a bludger and get a concussion." The girl said, trying to cheer his friend up.

"It's just not fair," grumbled Draco while stabbing at his breakfast. "A first year being in the quidditch team is breaking the rules and yet it's perfectly fine when Potter does it. What's the point of there being rules if no one follows them?"

"He is always going to get special treatment; especially while Dumbledore's headmaster. He's a hero remember?" Replied Isabella with a roll of her eyes. As if a baby could defeat her father.

"He didn't even actually defeat him-" Draco got cut off after Isabella put a hand to his mouth; her eyes silently warning him to stop talking.

"And besides," Continued Isabella while slowly moving her hand away from Draco's mouth. " It's hardly anything to be upset about. He's just some irrelevant fraud of a hero."

"Want to say that a little louder, Rosier? I don't think everybody else heard you." Said a cocky voice; both Isabella and Draco turned around to see Ron and Seamus Finnigan glaring at them.

By now, everyone in the hall was staring at them; including Harry who finally looked up from his untouched food. Isabella barely glanced at the two glaring Gryffindors and rose a brow at them. They really were insufferable. She paid them no mind and was about to continue her breakfast when she heard footsteps stomping towards her. Out of pure reflex, Isabella's hand went up to cast a shield around her just as Ron splashed a glass of orange juice at her.

People around her gasped and Draco immediately started to raise his voice at the two boys while Isabella took down her shield and fixed them with a glare of her own; her rage slowly bubbling to the surface.

Isabella slowly stood up with half a mind to snap them in half when a voice boomed over the forming crowd.

"What is the meaning of this?"

The students all turned back towards the voice and found Professor Snape staring at the group; eyes demanding an explanation. Snape's eyes immediately found Isabella's and narrowed in a silent question.

"Professor, I was just having breakfast with my friends when Weasley and Finnigan started yelling and tried to pour orange juice on me!" Exclaimed Isabella in an exaggerated tone.

"If it weren't for Rosier attacking Harry and calling him a fraud, Seamus and I would've never done it! We're just defending our friend professor!" Weasley retaliated harshly.

"Silence. I've heard enough. Miss Rosier giving her personal opinion that you dislike doesn't allow you to harass your schoolmates. 20 points from Gryffindor."

"But Professor-"

"I said that I've heard enough, Mr. Weasley. Now, unless you want more house points deducted, I suggest you and Mr. Finnigan go back to your breakfast and stay out of trouble."

With a swish of his black robes, Snape turned around and headed back to the teacher's table. Ron and Seamus turned back to Isabella, teeth bared. But before they could utter another word, Draco stood up and wrapped his arm around Isabella's shoulder, glaring down at them as Crabbe and Goyle surrounded them as a silent threat. The two Gryffindor boys, seeing as they were outmatched, backed away slowly to their table and sat back down next to Harry.

Isabella sighed as she picked up her fork again. "Well, now my food is cold."

"Well that can't be right." Isabella observed as Harry's broom jerked from left to right in the middle of the match.

It was now the first quidditch match of the year, and things seemed to be going well for Harry until it suddenly didn't. The Potter boy's broom, as if possessed with a mind of its own, started to move itself and the whole school watched as Harry battled in the sky to not fall off his nimbus 2000.

There had to be foul play happening. Isabella started to scan the crowds, searching for anything amiss. Her eyes soon landed on Professor Quirrell's steady gaze and watched as his eyes seemed to control the direction of Harry's broom. Isabella knew it had to with her father's plans and so watched silently to see what would unfold.

Suddenly sparks lit in the corner of her vision and the Slytherin turned to see her head of house on fire. Isabella's eyes narrowed at the bunch of bushy brown hair that disappeared as Snape tried to put out the fire.

Isabella looked up to see Harry regain control of the broom and land on the ground with a thud. The cheers from the house of red and gold rang across the field as the boy who lived spit out the golden snitch and held it up for all to see.

"But that's not fair! How can that be counted as a victory?" Complained Draco as he leaned on Isabella's shoulder in frustration.

"There there," the Slytherin girl patted the boy's blonde locks. "You can show him what a real victory looks like when you join the team next year."

The girl's eyes refocused on Quirrell and cocked her head as she watched him silently return to the castle.

"And as for me, I'll write my father a letter to see what he's up to."
