"You have to believe me..."

Isabella’s POV: (continued)

“Isabella.” A smile grew on his face.

“Zayn?” I called with a soft voice, not believing he was here. How was he here? Maybe this is some kind of dream.

He started walking closer, making my heart skip every time he took a step towards me. I ribbed my eyes and shook my head, but I knew deep inside, this was no dream.

We were finally a foot apart and I looked into his hazel eyes that were now gleaming while he looked into my eyes.

He took a breath, and I saw the frost coming out. “Isabella…I miss you.”

I shook out of the trance. I looked down at the ground, “Zayn…how’d you find me?”

“Don’t worry about it,” He smiled taking my freezing hand into his warm ones. He tilted my chin up and looked at me deeply.

“Ummm…I have to go…study.” I said, taking my hand back. I turned around and walked to the tree that I was sitting by. I bent down, sitting my butt on the cold snow. I turned the page and I could feel Zayn just stare at me.

A few minutes later I heard lots of shuffling. I looked up from the words in my book, curious about what it could be. I saw Zayn about a few feet in front of me, gathering snow and building some kind of boulder. He kept puffing with every push of the ball that was forming.

He finally stopped and looked at me, releasing a long breath. He smiled and tilted his head, gesturing for me to go over to him. I shook my head in response and looked down at the book. I had to ignore him as much as possible. I didn’t know what to do. He wasn’t supposed to be here and –

A ball of snow suddenly flew through sky and hit my shoulder. I looked up again seeing Zayn smirk.

“Zayn!” I exclaimed, a smile escaping my lips for the first time in months.

I saw his hands start making another snow ball. I put my book down and quickly scrambled my hands through the snow, balling it up. I quickly threw it at him and it hit him right on the side of his face. A laugh escaped my lips and his face lit up.

I quickly ran behind the large and thick trunk and put my back against it. I heard some movement, but everything was quiet. A few birds sang, making echos. I slowly got off the trunk and looked around the tree, not seeing anything but the huge ball Zayn had rolled. He wasn’t anywhere in sight.

I got away from the tree. “Zayn?” I called.

A snowball suddenly hit me from behind and I heard Zayn’s chuckle.

I turned around, “Zayn!” I laughed, bending down to get more snow. I balled it up and threw it at him again. I decided to do the same thing he did to me, so while he wasn’t looking, I hid behind the big boulder, breathing hardly.

I had him for sure this time.

I became spectacle, since I was listening to nothing. Not even the crunch of snow was heard. I didn’t want to get out from behind the ball, because my cover would’ve been blown. I peeked my head, not seeing anything.

“BOO!” Two hands suddenly wrapped around my waist, pushing me back. I screamed from how frightened I was, then laughed.

I lied back on Zayn’s chest and he crossed his arms around me chuckling along. He turned me over, so he was on top of me facing me. He smiled and leaned closer to my lips. I smiled and he leaned in more and finally reached my lips, slamming into them and kissing me passionately.

Fireworks went off in my body and it was one of the best feelings in the world. It had been so long since I’ve been with Zayn.

I then suddenly remembered why we weren’t together in the first place.

I shoved him off of me, disconnecting our lips. i began to sit up, so he got off of me. I stood up and turned away from him.

“Babe?” His husky voice called.

He turned me around and looked at me, holding my hand and tracing over the ‘always’ tattoo with his thumb, on my wrist.

“Zayn…you can’t be here.” I said.

“Why not?” He asked, his face full of worry.

Silence.

“You just ca-“

“Don’t say it Isabella. Don’t you fucking dare say that ‘I can’t’ or ‘you can’t’.”

“Then I don’t have anything else to say…” I bit my lip, having a feel of regret from saying what I just did. I looked to the ground.

I could feel my head burn with his eyes on them. “Isabella. I’m not sure what she said to you. But it’s over. Simon’s gonna fix everything. I promise you. He never knew, and this whole thing was just some bullshit that never was supposed to happen…” He said.

But how did I know that nothing was going to happen for sure? I believed him…but I wasn’t sure what to do.

“I don’t know…I just –“

“You don’t believe me?” He asked, sounding almost offended.

“It’s just –“

He put his fingers under my chin and lifted it up slowly, “You have to believe me…” He said his eyes watery.

“Zayn…I-I do believe you…”

“Then come with me.” He said, “I’ll get you out of here babe. I need you in my life. Do you know how hard life is for me waking up knowing that I won’t be spending the day with you? Do you know what it’s like to spend every second of the day thinking about you only?”

“Close your eyes Izz.” He instructed.

I did as he said and closed them seeing nothing but darkness.

“What do you see?” He asked.

“Nothing…” I said.

“That’s how my life is without you in it.”

I opened my eyes, surprised by what he said. Tears were already streaming down my face. “Zayn, I’m so sorry!” I gasped hugging him tightly. His arms quickly surrounded my body as I dug my face into his chest.

“No. I am. I should’ve never let you go…” He kissed the top of my head. “And I promise you…I will never…ever let you go.”
