Cool alternate cover for this book.

I groaned as I opened my eyes. The smell of smoke stayed in my lungs, only I wasn't in the throne room. I was in a hospital. I must've blacked out after I killed Gray. I struggled to sit up, ignoring the jabbing pain. Taking in my surroundings, I saw that it was a private little room. Next to the bed, I was in was a small, wooden table. On it was a medal and a vase of flowers. The floor was wooden, and the walls and ceiling were concrete. To my left was a big window and the beeping sound of the heart monitor connected to me came from my right.

A doctor walked in. She had short brown hair and yellow eyes. When she saw me sitting up, she smiled and walked over to me, sitting down on a stool beside my bed. Taking out a clipboard, she opened a pen and started to write something.

When she was done, she looked at me. "Mr. Mike, you are awake. How do you feel?"

"Fine," I responded. Suddenly remembering something, my throat seemed to close as I asked the doctor a question. "Do you know who my mother is?" I asked.

The doctor frowned. "Sunny Hart?" She replied. "Yes, what about her?"

"Is she... You know, dead?" I asked in a nearly croaking voice.

The doctor frowned again. "I'm sorry." She said. My heart seemed to have been gripped by icy cold hands. "When the space force delivered her to us she was already dying."

I hung my head for a moment, staring down at the sheets of the bed. Silent tears welled up in my eyes, but I refused to let them drop. I still had so many questions.

"What about the imposter?" I asked. I struggled to keep my voice straight as I spoke of the deadly man.

The doctor smiled. "He is dead, Mr. Mike." Her voice had a hint of relief in it. "You managed to stop him."

My heart seemed to warm up at that time. Taking a closer look at the metal on the table, I saw that it was addressed to me as a prize. "What about the other imposters?"

"The ones still alive broke out of the imposter's control." She explained. "The mental bonds restricting them from accessing the part of their brain which controls feelings were destroyed."

I nodded, but my head was dizzy. The doctor smiled again.

"I will leave to rest for a moment as I tell everyone you are awake."

As soon as she left, I sank into the pillow of the bed and fell asleep. It only felt like a few seconds, but when I woke up, it was the next day and the sun had just risen up. I jumped when I heard a knock on the door, but it was only the doctor. Sitting up again, I gazed at her questioningly as her gaze glinted with excitement.

Without explaining, she had me sit in a wheelchair. As soon as we got outside, we were met with a pig crowd. Confetti exploded everywhere as color surrounded us. People were cheering and laughing. They held up posters, balloons, and confetti blowers. Bubbles floated around as a group of little kids blew them at me.

I couldn't believe it.

They were cheering for me.

Someone managed to squeeze past the crowd and put a hand on my shoulder. Turning around, I was met with a familiar face. My heart jumped as I disbelievingly stared at my father. He grinned.

"You did it, Mike. You saved the world."

Welp. That's it! Thanks for reading. If you're interested, my sister could write a sequel :D, but that would come in the future. Comment if you want this.
