This is Part 2 for "From Afar". If you haven't read it yet then I recommend you go read it before diving into this one! ❤

After laying in bed for what felt like hours I heard a Bing from my phone. I groaned and reached for my phone that lay on my nightstand. I unlocked my phone and squinted at the sudden light, after a few seconds of letting my eyes adjust I finally check the new notification.
A text from an unknown number?
I click on the text bubble to see what the text had to say. Probably just another scammer.

Unknown
Hey

I hovered over my key pad, debating on texting them back or not. It only took me a few moments to decide, it wouldn't hurt anybody.

Y/n
Hey stranger

Unknown
Oh yeah, sorry, this is Jason. We met at the café?

I mentally face palmed and quickly texted back.

Y/n
Oh hey Jason

Jason
Do you give your number regularly or something? Or did you just forget you gave me your number?

Y/n
Of course I don't just give my number out, I just thought this was another scammer.

Jason
I was only joking lol..

Jason
Anyway, you free?

Y/n
Yeah I'm free

Jason
Cool, wanna hang out?

Y/n
I wouldn't mind seeing you again

Y/n
Sure. When? Where?

Jason
Uhm how about the cafè at 1:00?

Y/n
Sounds fine to me. See you then Jason

Jason
Nice, see you then y/n

I smile to myself and turn off my phone, placing it on my chest. I look over to my clock and see that it's 30 minutes until 1. I quickly get up and pick out my outfit for the day before heading to the shower. It was a quick shower with a fast hair drying session, then I grabbed my keys and booked it out of my apartment.

I park the car and make my way into the small cafè I've grown to adore. I placed an order for a coffee and picked a nice looking booth in the corner of the building. It had been a few moments of scrolling threw social media before I heard shuffling from in front of me. I look up to see a smiling Jason. He hands me my coffee and I gladly accept it from him.
"Oh thank you" I thank him while gently blowing on the coffee.
"It's no problem. They called your name but I guess you were too distracted so I just grabbed it for you" He says. I let out a nervous laugh before looking down at my coffee in embarrassment.

We spent a few hours in the small coffee shop, just enjoying the time together, before we decided it would be better to go on a peaceful walk around town. We were close to the local park and thought it would be nice to just go relax on the swings for a bit.

Jason was barely swinging his feet back and forth while I was touching the stars. I was laughing at his impression of his brother until suddenly my butt slipped off the swing and I went tumbling to the ground. Jason was quick to be by my side until he realized I was still laughing.
"Im laughing so hard my side hurts!" I wheeze out. Jason laughs at me and lays next to me on the dewy grass. After I calm down we just lay there and stare up at the stars. I let out a small sigh of content and feel a calloused hand slip into mine. I glance down to our interlocking hands and then to Jason to see a slight smile tugging at his lips. I playfully roll my eyes and squeeze his hand back.

I lost track of time as we continued to lay there in comfortable silence, and I probably could of laid there forever if it weren't for having friends. Yes, you read that correctly. My phone began ringing, snapping us out of our relaxed state. I reach for my phone and look to see that it's one of my old friends that I haven't talked to in a while.

I look to Jason and he only nods for me to pick it up. I click on the green button on the screen before answering.
"Hey f/n"
"Heyyy y/n!" I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion to her clearly slurred words.
"Are you drunk?" I ask. I hear a laugh from the other end as my answer. I let out a sigh and sit up as Jason followed my actions.
"Let me guess, you need me to come pick you up?" I ask.
"Yeah. Ima little tipsyyy so I need a -hic- sober uber" I shake my head and debate against myself before finally groaning in annoyance.
"Your at that local bar we used to go to together right?"
"Yep" The P being emphasized.
"I'll be there in 10"
"Love youuu!" I cringe at her loud behavior and hang up the phone. I stuff the phone back in my pocket and stand up.

"I'm so sorry to cut this short Jason" I apologize. He stands up as well and brushes off his pants.
"No it's fine, I understand. It's nice of you you to go pick her up like this" He says. I smile and shrug. He takes my hand and pulls me closer.
"I enjoyed our time together today" He said. Our faces inches away from one another, the smell of his cologne filling my senses. I smile and lean up as if I was going to give him a kiss. I swerve and kiss his cheek instead, continuing to tease him on the matter.

I pull away and begin to walk off with a smug smirk on my face before I feel myself being yanked back. Suddenly Jason's hands are on my face and his lips attached to mine. After the initial shock I melt into the kiss and put my hands around his neck as his hands move to my hips. As air becomes vital Jason's squeeze on my hips tightens and I pull on his hair in response.

We finally detach from one another and he puts his forehead onto mine.
"You need to stop with the teasing" He breathes out. I giggle and play with his hair a little.
"What can I say? I prefer to play hard to get" I joke. He laughs and nods at my statement.
"You were definitely hard to get, that's for sure" I only gaze into his eyes with pure adoration. I remember my friend and sigh. I give Jason one last peck on the lips before actually pulling myself from him.

"We should do this some other time, yeah?" I suggest while walking backwards.
"Definitely" He says. I laugh and do finger guns at him.
"See you then Jason" He laughs at my antics and finger guns back at me.
"See you then Y/n" I wink at him and turn to walk properly. I smile to myself while pulling out my keys. I was disappointed to leave Jason so soon but I'm looking forward to seeing him again.

He's definitely an interesting man
