3rd person pov:

The cold winter air brushed against the 16 children's cheeks as sweat dripped from there forehead and the raspy breathes that the children puffed out was all that could be heard in the woods for miles. Y/N was ahead of the group alongside Emma who was still holding her ear tightly in her grasp. The group of orphans ran as fast as there legs could carry them they had no idea how long they had been running for, all they thought about was putting as much distance from Grace field house and the headquarters as possible.

"guys I.. think...we...can slow...down now.." Y/N panted as she hunched forwards resting her arms on her knees Emma nodded and wiped the sweat from her forehead as the children sat down on the ground catching there breathe.

"Its so big.." Don marvelled as he scoped out the surroundings the children smiled brightly as they followed Don as he pointed out different things in the strange forest.

"who knew the demon world would be so beautiful" Y/N smiled to herself gently placing her hand to her chest as she wished her brother could be here.

"wow..so is this what the outside is like?" Ray muttered as he too was studying his surroundings still in shock that he even was standing there to admire the beauty of the demon world before him.

"Hey Emma the kids are hungry i found a large tree with a hole inside we could all rest under as we eat some breakfast we packed lots of food for us to ration, might last us a month if we use it wisely "Y/N said as she walked over to the ginger, Emma smiled and nodded and the kids hurried to grab bits of food from there bags.

"remember this has to last us until we get to the bunker" Ray reminded the group.

As the orphans munched into there food Ray noticed that Y/N was missing, he furrowed his eyebrows and he grew a tight knot in his stomach as he wondered where she may be. As he got up he saw the girl from a distance sitting on a rock with a book in her hands.

The raven walked over to the girl and noticed how lost she looked, he didn't know why but he was upset seeing her like this and sat beside her. Y/N's shoulders jumped up slightly in shock but Ray put his hands up.

"woah its ok its just me idiot" he said smacking the back of her head playfully. Y/N calmed down saying a small "sorry" as she kicked a small rock with her boot and closed the book in her hands.

"I don't get it. we escaped I should be happy but all I feel is guilty" Y/N admitted tapping her leg anxiously. Ray listened intensely hanging on to her every word.

"I just wish it was me who got shipped not him, he didn't deserve to die. Not like that" Y/N said in almost a whisper as a single tear slid down her cheek. Ray felt an aching pain in his chest thinking about Norman and quickly sat up, scrunching his hands into fists slightly shaking. Y/N looked up confused but then noticed the tears threating to fall from his eyes. She shook her head rapidly and stood up waving her hands about as she spoke. "Forget it! It's just life Ray ,It'll be over before we know it" She then tossed the book to the Raven's chest. "I stole that from Mom's office it's got all our photos in it".The girl then walked away from the ravenette to leave him to look at all the memories alone.
