One More Run

"He's allowing you to live and Peeta and I are from the same district so we can make it together!" Katniss says as we all walk in a group around the forest.

I look at Peeta who looks back at me.

"Yeah but he has to date the granddaughter." Peeta says quietly.

I roll my eyes. "Fat chance of that. I'm just supposed to meet with her."

"Cedric, the letter obviously wants you to do more than meet." Katniss says.

I roll my eyes. "Granddaughter is gonna be real disappointed."

Katniss sighed then turned "Let's split up and get some food."

I nod and Peeta says "Okay, I'll take the bow." We're all silent and he smiles "I'm kidding."

I laugh shortly and we separate.

I'm not sure why Snow wants me to meet his daughter. What's her name again? Erika or something? Wasn't she like fourteen?

I don't know, but I don't have any intention of meeting with her.

"Hi granddaughter of a murderer, I plan on killing your grandfather in the near future! How's your day going?" Yeah, that's not gonna work.

I search around but not too hard when I hear a Katniss scream Peeta's name.

I pause then hear the cannon sound.

I leave for two minutes and they're getting themselves killed!

I run around then see a body in the floor.

Foxface lays in the floor, her eyes wide open and poison berries in her mouth and hand.

I crouch down and put my hanger to her neck. I don't feel a pulse.

A frown takes place on my face as I reach over and close her eyes.

"Sorry." I mutter to her before Peeta and Katniss run over.

"Cedric!" Katniss and Peeta gasp. "We thought you were dead!"

I shake my head "No, it's just Foxface."

Katniss looked at Foxface and said "She must have been following Peeta."

I look at him and raise an eyebrow "You're telling me you were eating poison berries?"

"No, I didn't. I almost did but Katniss stopped me." Peeta defends.

I wanted to roll my eyes.

"Did you know her?" Katniss asks as she looks at Foxface.

"We talked." I say as I stand up. "She was nice."

Katniss nodded "She was clever."

"Too clever." Peeta muttered.

Katniss crouched down and took the berries out of Fox's hand and pockets them.

"What are you doing?" Peeta asks.

Katniss walked away "Maybe Cato likes berries too."

We walked around the forest but then it got dark suddenly.

Peeta looked around "Why is it getting dark?"

"I don't know" I say as I look around.

Suddenly in the distance I hear screaming and growling.

Katniss pulls out her bow and arrow and I lift my machete.

"What was that?" Peeta asks.

We're quiet before Katniss says "The finale."
