Angst 🌧️
Todoroki's pov

The hallways are always dark and the lights flickering. Even during the day no light really comes through the windows.

It's difficult to sleep at night considering everything that happens. You'll always be able to hear the faint screams and cries.

Some days the doctors purposely put us to sleep. No matter how much you struggle there is no escape. We all never make it out.

I remember how many people I used to talk to. Midoriya, Iida, Uraraka, those are the people I never find anymore.

My best friend is Katsuki. We met one day in the basement as we were being tortured. We seen each other multiple times after that. It's been getting more common though.

Tonight luckily the doctors didn't put me in restraints. I gently got out of bed. My bare feet touching the ice cold floor making me shiver.

I quickly walked to the door and peeked my head out. Looking around nobody was around. There wasn't even any noises which scared me.

My arms were covered in goosebumps. I walked down the hallway with the lights flickering rapidly.

At the end of the hallway I seen a spikey head of blond hair. Rushing due to the cold and excitement I hurried to him.

"Katsuki!" I whispered yelled

He looked towards me and smiled gently. In the darkness his crimson eyes seem dark with no shimmer to them.

"You shouldn't be out here at night."

"Says the one who's also outside of their room."

"I actually have a reason."

"You think I don't?"

"Why are you out of your room then?"

"To see you."

He chuckled and looked around. Katsuki is always so on guard like at any moment we could be killed.

It's understandable considering the situation we're in. Screams can be faintly heard meaning we shouldn't be caught. At least hopefully.

"We should go somewhere else."

"Such as?"

"Outside."

"But we know nothing about outside. We've never been out there."

"Do you really believe that we were born here?"

"No, but we grew up here."

"So that just means we belong here?" He asked

"We don't belong anywhere really." I shrugged

"That's why we find somewhere we belong."

"Katsuki we can't leave."

"Shoto you know what will happen if we stay!"

"I know what will happen if we leave!"

"Which is?"

"Us being lost and possibly never finding anywhere!"

Katsuki looked at the floor and licked his lips. I could tell he was getting upset but I can't just cave in.

"I'm leaving in 30 minutes. Meet me here or stay in your room, your choice."

Then he opened his door closing it behind himself. I was at a lost of words. Shocked that he really was doing this.

I hurried back to my room and shut the door behind me. My breathing got unsteady as thoughts soared through my head.

Behind the door footsteps could be heard and my breath got caught in my throat. Tears brimmed in my eyes as everything was overwhelming.

The footsteps started walking past the door. I rushed around the room trying to find things I could grab.

The closet had a bag and a few pairs of clothes. I stuffed the clothes inside and continued looking.

So much medicine but they didn't have labels. Most were paired with needles and smelled deadly. That didn't stop me from packing them.

Checking the clock on the wall I rushed out of the door. Making sure I was quiet but quick down the hallway.

Bakugou was waiting outside of his door looking around in panic. I slowed down and tilted my head.

"What's wrong?"

"We have to hurry!" He whispered yelled

"What's happening?" I asked

"They're in the hallways."

"Katsuki we can't get by them."

"We can run, you have to trust me."

I nodded readjusting the bag on my back. He had one also but it wasn't as stuffed.

Suddenly he grabbed my hand and ran down the hall. My legs had difficulty keeping up.

Guards started running after us quickly. Sirens started going off lighting up the hallways. Doors were securely locked.

Katsuki quickly ran down the stairs. I was so nervous that I was tripping over them.

The guards were yelling and shooting things at us. Luckily we haven't been hit. We both ran out of the doors and sprinted.

Katsuki purposely put himself behind me. I should've knew he was planning something. Something I couldn't change.

One noise

One shot

One fall

And Katsuki was on the ground. I looked back and tried to drag him with me.

He was lifeless. Eyes open and staring at nothing. Blood pouring out of his chest.

My screams were so loud. Not screams of terror but of sadness. Tears poured down my face as I held his body in my arms.
