Angst 🌧️
Todoroki's pov
It's been a year since the world has changed. It started with people going rogue and being inhumane. Chasing after each other, biting one another. It had spread like wildfire until almost everyone was turned into one of them.
Only some people are still alive. The ones that are still alive all know there's no hope for us. We'll be bitten and become one of those monsters. I think we just keep running because we're scared of what will happen next.
"Some of us need to go out for food." Midoriya sighed
"Why don't we all go? We've been here for a while and we shouldn't stay here for long." Shinsou asked
"This place has kept us safe." Mina responded
"If you call most of our comrades dying because of invasion safe." Bakugou grunted
"If we move we risk everything again." I said
"We'll talk about this later, who's going to look for food?" Shinsou rolled his eyes
"Me and Icyhot will go." Bakugou replied
"I never signed up to go with you." I leaned against the wall
"Nobody cares." Bakugou grabbed my wrist and we left the room
He seemed like he was in a hurry. Rushing around grabbing a backpack and some weapons for us. There was something different about today, I could feel it. Usually I'm confident but I'm nervous. I just stood in the hallway watching him while I was lost in thought.
"Are you going to help or not!? I wanted to bring you because usually your helpful!" Bakugou yelled
"I don't understand why you're rushing." I said calmly
"Because I want this day to be over and just move on!" He was stomping down the stairs now
"What's so terrible about today?" I followed him down the stairs
"What's not terrible about any day?"
"This isn't a terrible place."
"Oh great we're back at school, the place everyone wants to be." He chuckled
"At least it's safe." I shrugged
"Icyhot, you don't realize how much danger we've been in here."
"Lots of things happened but nowhere else is better."
"The country would be better, plenty of food and no zombies."
We both walked outside and the sky was a orange-gray. The smell wasn't at all pleasant outside. There's no such thing as fresh air when everything around you is dead.
Bakugou led the way to the grocery store. Recently it's been difficult finding food since it's been a year of this chaos. We walked around together trying to find anything we could.
We separated for a bit and something behind me hit the ground. The main rule is to try not to make any sound. I heard the groaning of zombies coming closer. My breath got caught in my throat as I held my baseball bat tighter.
A swarm of them came from around the corner. I swung my bat so many times but some would just not give up. Suddenly I was pulled to the ground and I felt teeth seep through my skin. Luckily I was able to kick it off quickly.
Bakugou came around the corner and attacked a few zombies. I made sure to hide the bite. He can't know about this until later.
"You okay?" He asked
I nodded quickly and put a few items in the backpack. We decided to leave afterwards. On the way back I tried not to limp from the wound. Bakugou seemed off and was very silent.

"You've been acting weird all day." I said
"I've just had a bad feeling." Bakugou responded
"That usually doesn't stop you from acting like your normal self."
"Shoto I'm just worried!" He sighed
"About what?" I asked
"You! Earlier you were attacked by zombies. Before that happened I felt like something bad might happen. So be truthful and tell me if you're bitten or not!"
"...I was bitten." I looked at the floor
"Based off of when you were bitten you should only have a few hours left." He gulped
"I need you to shoot me Katsuki."
"What are you talking about?"
"I don't want to turn."
"I'm not killing you!" He stood up
"You know you're the only one that would. It's my last wish."
I looked up at the moon seeing how bright it shined. My legs hanging off of the edge of the roof. Katsuki grabbed the gun sitting next to him and walked a few feet away.
Standing up I looked at him with tears in my eyes. I smiled softly trying to not make him feel worse than he already does. He aimed and I could see the hurt and hesitation in his dark crimson eyes.
"I love you."
