Cane

Before I come to my other senses, I pick up the sound of two pairs of footsteps, one set is heavy like that of a male and the others are as light as a feather almost like they barely touch the ground. As I open my eyes I have to almost instantly slam them shut again because of the blinding light. After I have blinked for a few moments I am able to keep my eyes open and look around trying to find the owners of the footsteps I heard while I was knocked out. As I look around I look behind me to see a large male and a small female that seemed to somewhat glow but that could just be my eyes still adjusting.

Once they realized I was moving they both turned toward me and that's when I realized that the small female was the woman that claimed to be the moon goddess before everything went black back on my pack grounds. It seemed as soon as my eyes fell on the moon goddess she disappeared in the blink of an eye. I blinked wondering if I had imagined her being here but when I asked my wolf Klaus I felt him nod his massive head in my mind saying that it was really her and not an imagination. Turn to the extremely large male watching him like a predator would his prey just to make sure he didn't try anything while I rose onto my feet. "So who are you and why am I here away from my pack and why did my new found mate get sent away before either of us had a chance to even talk to each other?" The male in front of me growled at me and turned toward what looked like a castle made long ago by sand as half of it was glass now.

"To answer your question as to whom I am, I go by many names but my true name is Atlas" he growled like he hadn't spoken aloud in many years. "As to your other questions you will know the answer half you read from the book of the ages." I followed after him as he went inside the glass castle and was shocked that it was actually cool and damp on the inside whereas the outside world was that of the desert. After what seemed like hours of walking we came to a large oak door with lycans howling to the sun and moon engraved on the door. Atlas pauses and looks at him before pushing the large door open. As soon as Cane crossed the doorway he began to float as the world around him turned into a grand library far bigger than he thought was possible. "Holy snicker-doodle where is this?" he asked. Atlas chuckled for the first time and said "Welcome to the library of our heritage Cane" said Atlas gesturing his room to the entire library while looking around.

After I looked around I realized Atlas wasn't next to me anymore but half way across the room going toward a very large book on a podium. Once I was closer to it I thought the book was large but I was sadly mistaken as upon arriving at it I took note that the book was half my size which is saying something as I'm 7'1 in height. I also noticed the title of the book and read it out loud in awe "The Great Book of The Ages" by Unknown." I look at Atlas, confused "who wrote this book" he shrugged his shoulders and flipped to a page called The Marked Ones. At the top of the page I see two pictures, one is of the sun and one is of the moon which looks identical to the one on the back of my neck, subconsciously I rub the back of my neck tracing my birthmark in wonder. "You are to read all sixty pages on the pro of you and your mate than and only then will I answer any of your questions and I suggest you read fast because in twenty-four hours you are going to go through a change that will hurt like hell and I would rather you not destroy the library of our people. I watched as Atlas walked away and tried to talk to my wolf but he was blocking me so I decided I might as well start reading.

What Seemed Like Six Hours Later

While I was reading the chapter on Lycans my body starts to become extremely hot right before it feels like my body is splitting in two. I give a roar of pain and Atlas is beside me instantly, "Hold on I'm going to get you outside" I barely heard him say over my roars of pain. Right as we reach outside I see a blindly light than darkness like someone blindfolded me even though I know they didn't by the smell of the earth. "Selene why is this happening so quickly, I've never in all my years seen the transformation start as quickly as his" Atlas asked out of breath from rushing Cane outside. "I don't know but I came because Lorelei started hers as well and I thought maybe it was her just feeling his pain but I know now it is not and I must hurry back to her my love, please watch over our son" Selene asked Atlas right before disappearing again. Atlas signs "I always will my dear mate" For the next day and a half Atlas watched Cane go through the transformation from just a werewolf to a lycan and every time Cane would roar Atlas would flinch. At the end of the second day Canes transformation was complete so Atlas took him to the medical wing of his glass castle. Cane wakes up and groans looking around confused as to where he was right before Atlas appears out of nowhere "Come let's go for a run then you can get some more rest, you'll need rest for the next few days." Cane nods following him outside and when he transforms he notices his paws are on the size of a large boulders.
