The next morning at Jisoo and Lisa’s university, the atmosphere was abuzz with excitement. The news of Kim Skyscrapers' CEO’s son, Taehyung, visiting campus with his girlfriend Lisa had spread like wildfire.

"Oppa, just wait a minute. My friend will be here soon. I want to introduce you," Lisa said sweetly, glancing around the parking lot.

"I’m busy—" Taehyung began, but his words died as his eyes landed on a familiar figure walking towards them.

Jisoo.

Her graceful walk, her flawless features, and the memory of her fiery spirit from the night before rendered him speechless. The daylight only amplified her beauty—her sharp jawline, deep hazel eyes, and heart-shaped lips left him mesmerized.

"Oppa, this is my best friend, Kim Jisoo," Lisa chirped, completely unaware of the tension between the two.

Jisoo’s eyes widened in horror. Of all people, why did Taehyung have to be Lisa’s boyfriend? Forcing a polite smile, she introduced herself, her mind racing for a way to hide her part-time job from her best friend.

Later, Jisoo and Lisa sat in the cafeteria, the latter’s mood somber. Lisa had confided her fears about her arranged engagement with Taehyung and her unrequited feelings for Jungkook.

"Don’t cry, Lisa. You can talk to your mom when the time is right," Jisoo comforted her. "She’ll understand."

Lisa nodded, though her tears continued. "But what if Jungkook doesn’t see me as more than a friend? He didn’t even react to the engagement news. It’s like I don’t matter."

Jisoo stayed quiet, unsure how to ease her friend’s pain.

As their classes ended, Lisa and Jisoo waited for their cab when a sleek black Mercedes pulled up. Jungkook stepped out, his signature bunny smile lighting up his face.

"Lisa, get in," he called, opening the door for her.

"Jungkook oppa, you didn’t have to come," Lisa said, though her smile betrayed her joy.

"It’s fine if your friend joins us," Taehyung said from the driver’s seat, his tone smooth but commanding.

Lisa turned to Jisoo, her eyes pleading. Not wanting to cause a scene, Jisoo hesitantly slid into the car. As the doors closed, she felt Taehyung’s intense gaze on her, sending a shiver down her spine.

Taehyung smirked to himself. The game has only just begun.

The restaurant buzzed softly with the murmur of conversations and the clinking of cutlery. Seated at a rectangular table, Lisa, Jungkook, Jisoo, and Taehyung found themselves in an unlikely grouping. Lisa sat beside Jisoo, while Taehyung and Jungkook were opposite them. The air was filled with light chatter, though Taehyung seemed more focused on observing Jisoo than engaging in conversation.

Lisa beamed as she introduced Jungkook to Jisoo. “Kook, this is my best friend, Jisoo. Soo, this is Jungkook, my childhood friend.”
Jisoo smiled warmly, offering a teasing glance at Lisa. “Oh, Lisa talks about you all the time,” she said, adding a playful wink that made Lisa roll her eyes.
