" Lucky I'm in love with my best friend "

;-) Chapter 5

The two close friends, one bubbly and carefree, the other more reserved and mature, walked side by side through the university campus. Lisa, with her usual cheerful energy, couldn’t help but bounce with every step, while Jisoo, always composed, moved at a steadier pace, her mind still preoccupied with everything that had happened recently.

She was still trying to process her own bravery from last night—how she had stood up to Taehyung despite feeling uneasy. It was a strange mix of pride and disbelief. But today, with the comforting presence of her best friend, she felt lighter, though the weight of her emotions hadn't fully left her.

“Did something happen?” Lisa’s voice cut through her thoughts. She glanced at her best friend, noticing the slight frown on Jisoo’s face. But before Jisoo could answer, her attention was drawn to the sight of someone she really didn’t want to engage with—her biggest fanboy in university, walking directly towards them.

Before Jisoo could react, she grabbed Lisa’s hand, pulling her forward with an urgency that left her friend confused but amused.

“Lisa, we need to hurry. I don’t want to lose my spot,” Jisoo muttered, her voice almost frantic as she quickened her pace toward the architecture department. Lisa, still a bit confused, pouted but followed, knowing better than to argue when Jisoo got this determined.

They made their way into the classroom, where Jisoo immediately took her usual seat in the second row by the window. It was the perfect spot for when the lecture became too tedious—just enough of a view to daydream while pretending to be attentive.

Lisa, however, seemed perfectly content to sit there and act engaged, though her eyes often drifted to the window as well. With a soft sigh, she leaned back in her chair, ready for the class to begin.

The lecturer walked in, carrying a list and a stack of papers. “I hope everyone has decided on their groups for the assignment,” he said, his voice firm as he looked around the room.

The students nodded, some with enthusiasm, others with resignation. As everyone pulled out their books and prepared their materials, the professor continued, “The theme for the assignment will focus on building construction. You are to collect information on famous skyscrapers in the city.”

Lisa groaned internally but kept her face neutral as the lecture continued. She wasn’t exactly thrilled about the subject matter—especially the historical details about skyscrapers that didn’t particularly interest her.

The lecture soon ended, and it was time for lunch. Both girls picked up their lunch trays and found a quiet spot to sit, ready to unwind after the morning’s session. The cafeteria buzzed with chatter as students gathered together, but Jisoo and Lisa preferred to stay in their corner, enjoying their food and sharing lighthearted gossip.

“I can’t believe we only have four days for this assignment,” Lisa mumbled through a mouthful of chips and salsa. “It’s so cruel! Why does he give us assignments every time we turn around?”

Jisoo giggled at her friend’s exaggerated pout. “You never did have much interest in building construction, did you?” she teased, shaking her head fondly. Lisa was always so full of energy, but when it came to the technicalities of their courses, her enthusiasm often waned.
