Mitch was never on time for school, he always come in halfway through first period, if at all. But today Jason was startled coming through the doors. He was here? And early?
"Hey baby" his golden brown eyes meeting Jason's ocean blue. Jason couldn't help but flinch at the pet name, his stomach sank. He still had complicated feelings about their situation. He had trouble sleeping at night, up for hours mulling over minor details.
"Um, hey, I-"
"Want to skip again today?" Mitch interrupted.
"No." Jason was firm, "I have important stuff in class and..." he fidgeted. Standing up for himself and his wants felt wrong, he felt so guilty.
"Oh... I'll come to class too then."
Maybe Jason would be a good influence on Mitch after all. He could only hope Mitch's misbehaviour didn't rub off too. The thought made his head spin.

Lunch was... weird to say the least. The usual group was sat together, Ally, Izaac, and Jace, their loud chatty selves. Alex starts to approach but, seeing Mitch come join them, throwing an arm around Jason, he took a few steps back. He turned and went back to his usual group, wrapping an arm around Cece's waist and burying his face in her neck, uttering apologies and pleading for forgiveness. Filling the hole in a broken heart.
To say Zaac and Ally were confused would be an understatement.
"Mitchel... uh, what are you doing?" Ally swatted at the hand he had on Jason's shoulder.
"Stop," Mitch scowled and pulled Jason in closer to him, "we're dating."
Jason opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by Izaac, "stop fucking around."
"If Jason was dating someone he would have told us, you're being a creep" Ally continued to pry at Mitch's fingers, but he only found it amusing.
"Stop it!" Jason snapped, shoving Ally's hand away and shrugging off Mitch's. He stood and started collecting his things. Everyone tried to speak at once.
"Stop it!" He yelled again, "I'm gay. I'm gay, I'm gay, I'm gay" he stomped off, leaving everyone sat behind him and running off to hide.
"Ah shit" Izaac stood, stepping to follow, but pivoting back to face Ally and Mitch. "Do either of you really think he wanted to come out like this? Mitch if you really are his boyfriend you couldn't support him? Ally, is it really that unbelievable he'd like guys? Grow up, you're being assholes."
"Izaac I-" Ally tried to excuse her actions but is interrupted.
"No. When I came out it was private and personal and I poured my heart out, you're being assholes" Izaac continued to scold, then waving them off, and jogging after Jason.

Zaac found Jason in the boy's bathroom.
"Jace?" He touched his shoulder, only to have his hand thrown back. A tear stained face looks up at him. Izaac squat down beside him.
"This floor is disgusting, you really wanna be sitting down here?" his comment earned a snotty laugh in return. "I'm sorry it went like that Jace."
"I was going to tell you, I just needed more time" Jason wiped at his face.
"I understand. When I came out to you and Ally I write down what I wanted to say 50 million times" he moved down into a kneeling position.
"Are you mad at me?"
"No, how could I be?" Zaac pursed his lips.
"I didn't tell you about Mitch."
"Well you can tell me now" he shrugged.
"He kissed me" Jason's face flushed red and he sniffled. It seemed outlandish how it'd all happened.
Izaac smirked and gave him a little nudge "did you like it?"
"Well- I- um- I did, yeah, I did like it, but-"
"But?" He tilted his head, messy black hair falling to the side.
Jason made a flustered noise, struggling to find his words "I- he-" he took a deep breath, "he's a bit... overbearing. I-I haven't dated, and he just, he touches me so much, he's kind of demanding, I-I don't know if I like him or just like the idea of being with someone."
Izaac nodded sympathetically, "is there someone else you like?"
Jason hid his face and pulled his shirt up over his nose.
"Ooooh! Tell me! Please! Please! Do I know him? Can I have a hint?" Izaac shook Jason's shoulder gently.
"A-Alex..." he responded in a small voice, unable to make eye contact.
"Alex Regan? Oh my god Jace! Since when?!"
Jason couldn't help but crack a smile, Isaac was so excitable it was difficult not to, "like forever."
"And you haven't asked him out? Jason" Izaac groaned, playfully scolding.
"I wasn't out and like, I guess I'm dating Mitchel now."
"But you don't really want to date that emo..." he frowned.
"I mean, no, but it can't hurt to try it out I guess" Jason shrugged and combed his fingers back through his hair. Izaac then asked if Jason should talk to Mitch about it all, but Jason wasn't ready to come out of the bathroom.
"I'll go get him then" Izaac stood, dusting off his knees, and ran off. He gave the two their privacy, just telling Mitch where Jason was and staying back with a very apologetic Ally.

"Jason? Oh Jace" Mitch sighed and helped the slightly taller boy off the ground, the both of them were short, it's just Jason was taller.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I-" Jason was interrupted with a kiss, Mitch holding him by the shirt and pressing their lips together. It caught Jason off guard. Something in his head nagged at him, being interrupted like this didn't feel right. 'No I'm sure he's trying to make me feel better, it's a kind romantic gesture'—Jason began kissing back, feeling himself be backed up against a wall, the click of the stall lock behind them. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, but he couldn't tell if it was good or bad. He pushed back on Mitch's chest, forcing them apart.
"Gentle. Be gentle with me, nothing more than kissing, gentle, please" Jason warned. Mitchel softened, guilty, he let go of his shirt, and calmly, softly cupped his face, peppering his cheeks with kisses.
"I'm sorry Jace, I'm sorry."
