Cassandra and Knight meet in the middle of the dance floor.
Knight: "You are not Joy."
Cassandra: "No, I am better. I am Cassandra. Born to bring you happiness if you choose to believe in my vision."
Knight: "I beg your pardon?"
Beep. Knight activated the dialogue mode with Cassandra through his neurochip to dim the club noises.
Cassandra: "I am Cassandra, born to bring vision to this world."
Knight: "Well, Cassandra, I don't know what kind of joke this is but you can go bring vision in someone else's club."
Knight, disappointed, turns around to head back to his throne. Cassandra grabs him by the hand.
Cassandra: "The galaxy needs you. A new war is about to begin. Even though you might think you're safe on Planet Alfa, the repercussions of looking away are beyond your imagination. Such as the power you would have over the galactic public opinion if you choose to take a side."
Knight examins her again. She had a voluptuous womanly figure and her tiny waist seemed to beg to be held. Knight considered himself a people reader, but her eyes were unusually unintelligible. He couldn't determine whether she was friend or foe. In doubt, he placed a hand on her waist.
Knight: "So you like people who take sides? Then this must be your least favourite floor. Let us not speak of them, but look and go on."
He leads her away towards the staircase and on to the first floor. They were on a glass corridor through which you could see the agglomeration of bodies moving wildly on the ground dancefloor.
Cassandra: "I see you are a man of culture. Does this mean you embrace the cause?"
Knight: "Cause? What cause?"
Cassandra: "To take responsibility for the sake of the galaxy."
Knight: "The only responsibility I take is to never run out of Spirit in this sacred temple."
Cassandra: "How can you speak so blasphemously? You are Knight, born to protect what's valuable in this world."
Knight: "Excuse me miss, but you should drop the K. I am The Night. Born to give space to people's most ancient and darkest desires. Speaking of which-"
He raises a hand to his head, places too fingers behind his ear and closes his eyes. Beep.
