She was lost and so was he.
Who knew that two broken hearts can connect to one.
Arabella's world has been rigged since the day she was born. Her fate had been decided for her much longer before she even had been conceived in the womb. So it came as...

You know that gut-wrenching moment when you can literally feel your heart drop to your stomach? As if it's vanishing—slipping out of your chest and leaving nothing behind?
That moment when everything just... stops?
You feel numb.
My mind is a blur as my eyes flutter open. They burn, dry and heavy from the tears I must've cried. But the rest of me feels like ice—cold and unmoving, like something inside me shut down overnight.
Slowly, I raise a hand to my forehead, brushing the spot where his lips once were. Where he kissed me. A kiss I'll never forget... even if he already has.
"I can't ask you to wait for me. You shouldn't. But I see something in you, Arabella. Something so damn good. With everything in me, I see it. But it's not enough, my beautiful and gorgeous amor."
That moment had given me so much false hope. For a second, it seemed like he was finally ready to choose me. Like he saw something in me. But I guess... he didn't truly see me in the end.
My feet dangle in the sheets, and I want to burst into tears right then and there. But I hold them back, yanking the covers off of me as if they were choking me. I need to get out of his room. I wasn't going to fall apart here—not in his space.
My legs shake as I stand. I can't catch my breath, lungs tight like they've forgotten how to work. My hands tremble violently as tears blur my vision. I grip the doorknob, fling the door open—and just like that, air rushes back into my body. I breathe out a desperate sigh.
I'm out. But my heart keeps sinking deeper and deeper.
And right then, I hear them—Aria and Vivian. They're halfway down the staircase, but as soon as they see me, they stop. Their eyes flick behind me, realization flashing fast. I just walked out of Dominic's room.
A grin spreads across their faces as they squeal and rush back up the stairs.
"Oh my god! Dominic just left his room a few seconds ago. Which means you and him—" Vivian's voice fades as her smile slips, her eyes locking on my bowed head.
"Vivian," I cry out. The dam bursts, and tears spill down my cheeks. In an instant, they're at my side, holding me up as I collapse.
"Oh babe. Come on. Let's go to my room." Vivian's arm tightens around me as I muffle my sobs into her shoulder. Aria lets go for a moment to lock the door—and I crumble.
I drop to the floor, knees to my chest, hands hiding my face as I sob uncontrollably. Vivian kneels down and folds herself around me like a blanket, cocooning me in comfort.
"Am I that repulsive, Vivian?" My voice breaks between gasps. "Why can't he see me for once? There's always going to be someone else, isn't there?"
