The next day at lunch everyone kept talking about tonight "I can't wait for tonight !" Julie said "yeah honestly I feel confident about tonight"Charlie said "I don't know man they seem pretty good" Russ started to say "so what , that doesn't mean we can't beat them " I say as the table agrees, Adam walks past us and i accidentally made eye contact with him but looked away as fast as I could "uh excuse me , I'm going to the bathroom " I say as I get up and walk to the bathroom

Once we got to the ice rink we saw that the varsity team was already there so we joined them on the ice ,"Charlie are you still mad at me?" I asked Charlie as I skated next to him as he just scoffed and skated away from me "oh.." I whispered as I put my head down and skate away ,"coach says I'm the starter" Julie told Goldberg "coach? I don't see any coach" Goldberg replied "well split the shifts , I want a piece of these guys "Julie replied and started to skate next to me "oh hey Julie" I tell her as she greets me back and we start to skate together until one of the varsity players came up to her "hey,can we call it even?" He asked "I hate ties , there like kissing your brother " she replied to him and skated away as I snickered and skated away with her.

Averman teased Rick "ah it's looks like you're a goalie for a dart team, yeah,yeah" he chuckled, Adam soon came up to Charlie but I couldn't see what they were talking about but Adam looked down ,he then came up to me "oh hey Adam" I said as he came up to me "hey um y/n , I just wanted to apologize for what happened yesterday, they didn't tell me until it was already too late -" he spoke as I looked down smiling then looked back up at his eyes "it's okay adam it wasn't your fault " I tell him as we shared a small smile before we started the game .

"OKAY GUYS CONCENTRATE NOW" Riley said as we start the game, The game started and Charlie got pushed down not even 5 seconds into the game "Hey!" Julie yelled , "all right, two for one !" They (varsity)said as they dropped guy and Connie ,they made a goal and cheered "get loose ,Charlie!","come on Charlie !" We told him as he yelled "flying V"  "I love when they do the "v" " Goldberg said they made the "v" but got pushed down and they scored a goal ,they kept pushing us down and scoring ,"try the triple deke" Julie told Charlie as Charlie did as she said but didn't score ,the varsity managed to pushed Goldberg down and scored .

"What was that ,huh!?" I said I said skating up to varsity "let me at him "Connie said "oh hey here's one , you got a little problem?, come on sweetie's , come on take a shot "Rick teased "leave them alone connie " Julie said as we start to skate away , "We can't win if there gonna cheat" I told Charlie "don't show them we're hurt " he finally replied to me, Riley kept yelling at Adam to go for Charlie , Charlie got mad and managed to push Adam down ,"that's it, lets get them!" Fulton said as we skated to them "get off me , Charlie , get off !" Adam told him as they both got up "how do you like it , banks ?" He said "yeah,nice takedown you'd be in the box" Adam replied "go cry to ur rich parents " Charlie said "All right fine !" Adam said and they both attacked each other"CHARLIE ENOUGH!" I yelled as I skated to get him off Adam .

FREEZE!" We heard coach Orion say and we all froze "HEY!" He said again "hey ! Break it up !, break it up now !hey!" He kept saying while I kept my eyes on Adam ,"it's a damn good thing I'm not ur coach now get ur team out of here now !" Coach said "this ain't over !" The varsity team said "Get outta here " someone said , Adam looked back at us once more before leaving , "well congrats, you just forfeited whatever mental edge you might have had over them, now they know they own you" coach said "this isn't the peewees, your little duck tricks are not gonna work at this level , now for the last time , stay away from the varsity "coach yelled "and get those duck jerseys off now" he said once again "now come on ,let's go , take them off " he said as we took our jerseys off ,besides Charlie "you got two choices, Conway ,take off the jersey right now or you don't play " coach said to Charlie "you're breaking up the best thing any of us ever had " Charlie said angry "well it's time to grow up" coach said "grow up?, like you ,huh ? A washed -up pro who had to show off to a bunch of kids, geez , that's real grown up  "Charlie said skating up to coach "okay good-bye , Conway." coach said to him "anybody else?" He asked as Fulton skated away with Charlie "all right , good-bye Fulton " he said "no one's forcing any of you to be here , it's ur lives , you decide what to make of them " he said as I looked at the ice  "all right , twenty laps then hit the showers" coach said as we picked up our things besides our ducks jerseys . I didn't know where Charlie went, I've tried to call him but we won't pick up I figured he was probably with Hans so I brushed it off and sat in bed.
