Captain Cold slammed his heel into the Flash's chest, sending the speedster flying onto his back. He quickly followed through by blasting his feet with his Cold gun. Barry inhaled painfully at the icy feeling of frost coating his feet. Before he could try to vibrate free though, Cold leveled his gun with Flash's head, sneering at him. "Sayonara, Speedy." He cackled.
Barry shut his eyes, hearing Caitlin and Cisco screaming in his ears as he prepared for the worst. Images of Iris flooded his mind, and he pictured the look on she and Joe's faces when they discovered what had happened to him. Luckily for him, the moment never came.
Barry suddenly heard a loud growling, and the next thing he knew Cold had whipped around to face a new adversary. The Flash opened his eyes to see a dark figure pummeling his attacker. From his frozen position on the ground, Barry could only get a vague image of the new arrival.
The new figure had an armored black outfit, and a mask that closely resembled a motorcycle helmet; but was shaped like the head of a wild cat, with two pointed ears. A tail-like thing that was coated in black armor snaked out of the back of the suit, and the guy's feet were like panther feet- sporting lethal metal-tipped claws. The vigilante was stockily built, but with little enough muscle that he could have been a she. Whoever he was, he was giving Cold a run for his money as he ripped his metal claws across his face.
Captain Cold stumbled back from the attacker, breathing hard as he clutched his bleeding face. The newcomer eyed him with the watchful eyes of a predator. "Forget it!" Spat Cold. "No bank vault is worth this much crap!"
With that cheerful statement, he bolted from the scene.
As soon as Cold had disappeared, the cat-like figure turned to Barry; who was writhing in pain as the true cold sat in. Unsheathing his claws again, the cat kneeled stock - still for a moment before bringing his hand smashing down on the ice, shattering it instantly. The speedster stood on shaky legs, waiting for the healing to set in.
"Who are you?" He gasped. The reply was low and warped, so Barry knew that the vigilante used a voice modulator. "Bastet." He said. With that, the cat launched onto all fours at a sprint, latching his claws into the side of a concrete building in a feat of superhuman strength. He was gone in an instant.
Barry gaped open-mouthed at the space where the figure had been before Caitlin rang in his ear. "Barry? Oh, thank God you're alive." She inhaled deeply for a moment before adding, "Who was that?"
"I don't know Caitlin. I don't know."
