Peyton POV:
I wake up in Paiges room, Paige is still asleep so I carefully get out of bed so I don't wake her and get dressed. I'm still upset about what happened yesterday with my mom, and how she only wants to come back into my life because of the following that I have.
I end up deciding to walk to Mirror Lake, which is a Lake on campus that's really pretty this time of year, especially because it's really nice out today. Even though it's only February it feels like a spring day. I write a note on a post it that I'm going to Mirror Lake to just get some air and think, and stick it to Paige's phone so when she wakes up she knows where I am.
Once I get to the lake I lay down on the grass in the shade and just look up at the sky and begin to think about everything that has happened to me in the past year.
About and hour and a half later, when I'm still looking at the sky and all the different shapes of the clouds, someone lays down next to me and I immediately know it's Paige by her blonde hair.
"How are you doing?" She asks softly as I rest my head on her shoulder and she wraps her arm around me.
"I'm okay, it was nice to just lay down and listen to the water flowing, the birds chirping, the trees moving in the wind, it was very peaceful" I admit
"I'm glad. I would've come sooner but I thought you might want some extra time alone" Paige says
"Thank you" I say
"Of course. Are you ready for your game later?" she asks
"I don't know, what if I see her there?"
"Then you just continue to play. Don't let her ruin what you've worked so hard for, go out there and show her what she's missing out on for leaving you"
"Yea but it's gonna be hard" I tell her
"Well you got me, and the entire basketball team coming to cheer you on" she says
"Wait, all of you are coming?" I ask picking my head up and looking at her
"Yup. We gotta support our biggest supporter" Paige says with a smile

Paige POV:
Peyton's game is going to start soon, the whole team came to support Peyton which I'm happy about. But what Peyton doesn't know is that I made her sign asking her to be my Valentine. On the sign it says #8 on the field but #1 in my heart, will you be my valentine? with two boxes that both say yes that way she can't say no, but will also get a laugh out of it.
The team just finished warmups and are jogging back to their dugout and that's when I stand up and pull out the sign and hold it. She hasn't noticed yet, but her team has and they are all pointing at me and whispering to one another.
Eventually she noticed them pointing at something and looks in the direction and her eyes land on mine for a split second before she looks at the sign. As soon as she reads it she comes jogging over with a big smile on her face.
"When did you make this" she asks still with a big smile on her face
"This morning, when you left, Nika helped me out" I tell her
"Yea I did, it was my idea to draw a softball on it" Nika says happily to Peyton
"Thanks Nika" Peyton says chuckling "So are you gonna give me a sharpie so I can answer" Peyton says looking back at me
"Oh right" I say grabbing the sharpie out of my pocket and handing it to her
"Yes and Yes?" she says laughing looking at the answers "You really think I would say no" she continues still laughing checking off one of the Yes boxes as my team cheers for me
"I mean you never know, I wanted to be safe than sorry" I say joking
"Oh please" she says still laughing
"Paige give her the flowers" Evina says
"Oh yea, I got you flowers but I can hold them for now till your games over so nothing happens to them" I say showing them to her
"Awww, your so sweet" she says pulling me in for a hug
"You guys want me to take a picture?" Her coach asks coming over
"Yea, we'd love to" Peyton says as she pulls back from the hug "My phone is in the locker room though" she adds
"Here" I say taking my phone out of my pocket "Use mine" I tell Coach V handing her my phone
I hand Peyton the flowers to hold in her arm while I hold the poster. We wrap one of our arms around each other's backs as we smile when Coach V takes the photos.
She hands me my phone back and we look at the photos she took "These are perfect, thank you so much" I tell her
"You're welcome, congrats on your win yesterday girls" Coach V says before heading back to the dugout
"I gotta go because the game is gonna start soon, but I'll see after the game" Peyton says pulling me in for another hug
"Alright, I love you, and remember just play, don't let her get to you" I say
"I love you too, and I'll try my best" she says as we pull away from the hug. "Thank you guys for coming too" She says to all my teammates before jogging back to the dugout getting ready for the game to start.
