sick 🐶💙

Jeno felt like he was dying. It had been half an hour since his head had been hanging over the edge of the toilet bowl, but he'd felt too dizzy to even attempt to get up.

Jeno had been hiding his sickness for a week, passing off the red flush on his face as him practising too hard, and a day when he stayed up for 24 hours straight without any sleep made his sickness worse than before. He always excused himself from any further questioning, so no one would notice his inability to stand straight for too long. In all fairness, he was doing a pretty good job at faking his wellbeing, but violently throwing up in the middle of the night is a cause for concern. One thing he was sure he wouldn't be able to charm his way out of if anyone found out.

With the stress of the new comeback, Jeno didn't want to add his illness into the mix of things, having convinced himself it would just be a bother. So here he is, lying on the bathroom floor, a second away from fainting from exhaustion.

Once he made it to the bed, he slipped back into his warm duvet. Feeling a sudden cold flush, he moved slightly to change the temperature higher than before. Content, Jeno drifted off to sleep, opting to deal with his sickness once he awoke.

The sun was glaring through the curtains when Jeno finally woke. Despite the earlier disruption, he was well rested since he didn't have any plans to hurry to either. Blinking his eyes open, he was startled by Karina's face that was intensely staring at him while crossing her arms, clearly showing she was angry.

"Why didn't you tell me you were sick?" Many expressions crossed over the girl's eyes, but the predominant ones were disappointment and... guilt?

"Sorry," Jeno mumbled, with his eyes roaming everywhere in the room without any intention of looking back at Karina.

"I didn't want to make you worry about me, and this is nothing actually. It'll go away after some time." he replied with an apologetic smile. Although he loved being pampered and showered in affection, he didn't like the thought of his girlfriend seeing him vulnerable.

Karina let out a small sigh as she held Jeno's hand. The usual strong grip on his hand felt so weak that day, and this made Karina feel sorry for her boyfriend.

"Jeno," Karina started, trying to get Jeno to face her.

"Am I not your girlfriend?" Jeno shakes his head.

"Then why? Why didn't you inform me that you're not feeling well? You could at least send me a message that you were sick. "

When Jeno didn't answer, she continued, "You know I can't take care of you if you don't say anything, hmm?" Her tone was sweet and her touch smooth as she held Jeno's hand, bringing them to her lips to press a kiss to Jeno's fingertips and palm. Karina hummed, "Love, answer me."

"It's just, I know you are busy too with recordings and practices. I don't want you to waste your time visiting me and having to stay up late because of me. I don't want to make you feel more tired." Jeno said while fiddling with Karina's fingers that intertwined with his.

"It's not a bother, love. Remember, I always love you and when you hurt, I'm hurt too. " She reminded.
Karina cradled Jeno's head softly, sweetly smiling at him.

"You're burning up, Jen. Wait, I'll get some things." Jeno nodded, not trusting his voice, and she got up, whispering an 'I'll be back' in his ear before lightly pecking his forehead.

By now, Karina had come back with a cold damp cloth and a steaming bowl of homemade chicken soup on a tray. She placed the damp cloth on Jeno's forehead, mumbling an apology when he shivered and began to spoon feed Jeno the soup.

As he eating, Jeno started to feel sleepy. His eyes started to droop; his head was rocking back and forth as he tried to stay awake.

"Sleep big baby," she said as she kissed his temple. "I'll be right here." Not long after, Karina could hear the faint snores coming from Jeno. She placed a small peck on the sleeping boy's lips before wrapping her arms tightly around Jeno in a protective hold, drifting off into a calm sleep.
