It's four days before New Year as Jaemin walks down the hall to his shared apartment. Unlocking the door, he opens it and is welcomed by the wonderful aroma of food and cookies. He looked over to see Minjeong in the apron she wears whenever she cooks. She stood up with a fresh sheet of cookies straight from the oven.

Jaemin takes off his coat and hangs it up in the closet. He silently makes his way to the kitchen and stands behind her. She turned around, and jumped slightly at Jaemin's sneaky action. He smiles brightly as she makes a small huffing noise and rolls her eyes. Jaemin leans down and steals a kiss and a cookie.

"I'm home." He says as he takes a bite of the cookie.

"Hey, those are for after dinner!" Minjeong scolds him, but not without a smile of her own. She set the cookie sheet down and wrapped her arms around Jaemin's waist. Looking up at him with a pouty face, he leans down for a 2nd kiss, this time longer than before.

"Welcome home," Minjeong told him. She unwrapped herself and went back to the stove to check on the vegetables.

"How was your day?" she asked while opening pot lids.

"The trainees are making great progress." He replies while leaning against the kitchen island. Jaemin is a dance trainer at a well-known entertainment company.

Minjeong hummed acknowledged, "That's good news. Do you think any of them will debut soon?" She always keeps tabs on the trainees, just for fun. Jaemin ponders the question a bit.

"There is a possibility of some debuting in a couple months. I think their dancing would be confident enough." Minjeong nods as she hands him some plates and he goes to set the table for two.

"How about your day?" Jaemin asks. She put out two cups and set them on the counter.

"The kids are getting better, though they struggle a bit with the sentence structure." Minjeong is an English teacher for the students at a local elementary school and sometimes gives lessons to the trainees at Jaemin's work. Jaemin snorts as he puts napkins down.

"English sentence structure is frustrating," he says.

Minjeong laughed before she replied with a mumbled '... only for you.' Jaemin rolls his eyes and comes back to the kitchen and watches her prepare dinner. There are several Korean side dishes as well as foreign ones. There is a lot more food than for just two people.

"Why did you make so much food?" He asks, eyeing a plate of what seemed to be balls of meat in some kind of sauce.

"They are sweet and sour meatballs, and I'm testing out recipes for New Year's Eve." She says, handing him some dishes to take to the table. Both of them begin to put food on their plates. Jaemin picks up his utensils and puts them back down. He looks at her with a confused expression.

"Wait, isn't Mark hosting the New Year's Eve dinner?"

She takes a sip of water and replies. "Not anymore. His girlfriend was called away on a business trip at the last minute. It's sad having to be called in to work on New Year's Eve."

She takes a meatball and pops it into her mouth. After finishing it, she looked back at Jaemin. "I don't plan on leaving the cooking to that man. He can't cook rice to save his life." That comment earned a soft chuckle from the man sitting across from her. They both continue to eat when Jaemin stops again.

"Wait, does that mean we are hosting the dinner?" She nods her head.

"Which means we are cleaning the house tomorrow." She smiles up at him and he just stares back, expression blank. Jaemin doesn't seem too amused about hosting a party for 30 people, or could be more.

"If it makes you feel better, we can listen to your music while we clean." Minjeong tries bribing him any way she can. He looks like he's pondering the agreement.

"Fine, but you owe me another present." His brown eyes bore into her own, a little glimpse of something more in them.

"Does this mean an early New Year present?" Minjeong asked as she stood up to take the dishes back to the kitchen. Jaemin sits back in his chair and watches as she clears the table.

"Hmm, I guess it could be a little early." Minjeong smiled knowingly as she walked over to him and planted a chaste kiss on his lips.

"Sounds like we have plans after the dishes get done." They both laughed before smiling fondly at each other and steal another kiss.

Or could be more.
