I walk into the great hall the next morning. I see a group of second years putting their names in. I saw James Potter put his name in when nobody was looking. He had much a chance as anybody. Mcgonnagal walks in so everyone starts to cheer. "The names will be drawn after lunch" she shouts to us over the noise.

Everyone stops cheering. Some of the second years looked nervous, some looked like they regretted putting their names into the hat. I grinned. I didn't regret it one bit. I wasn't even a slight bit nervous. I had stayed up all night in the library going over plants, hexes, jinxes and potions. I was exhausted. The tournament wouldn't start till tommorrow morning. I decided I'd go to bed early that night. I'd study until 7 then go to bed.

Everyone was too excited to do anything. We all just sat there often starting to talk about the competition during classes. Some of the teachers gave up on teaching us anything that year and let us talk or play games.

Lunch finally came. Everyone filed into hall. We ate our food in silence. Everyone started to talk excitedly when the food was demolished. When Mcgonnagal got up to speak everyone went quiet. It was a deafening silence. "There will be a break in the competition for quidditch matches if you are on the team. If not you can watch only if your house is playing. During this time you will not be permitted to get any food or drink" Mcgonnagal says. She starts to draw names. When she has 20 she calls names. As names are called people file onto the teachers chair podium. "Albus potter!" She calls. A confused Albus walks onto the stage. "Scorpious Malfoy!". A scared Scorpious walks to the stage. "Somehow people from different years got their names into the hat so Lysander Lovegood up you come".  A excited Lysander runs up on to the stage. "James Potter". James skips to the stage happily. "Rose Granger Weasley". I look over at her parents. They looked worried. I stopped listening after that until I heard. "Last but not least Bella Malfoy!". I walk into the stage hardly believing it's true.

I see Sophia laughing with Lysander. She had gotten picked aswell. I saw a second year wave to Lysander but Lysander ignored him completely and continued to talk to Sophia. Everyone filed out of the great hall. Some people worried. Some people excited. Some people disappointed they did not get in. My dad came up to me and started harassing me about making my friends study. We weren't allowed to bring books into the forest. We were allowed one pet so we'd find out off our friends what the were learning in school. You could bring a cat but Mcgonnagal suggested an owl. "I'll be fine" I reassured my dad.

When I got into bed I began to study. Before long I had fallen asleep. In the morning I'd be in the forest surviving off my friends grades. I hoped Rose would be ok. After all she wasn't the smartest person in our year. I was top of my year just like my mother had been.
