MAELANI TOLD HER MOM her day at school wasn't as bad as she predicted, to obviously avoid questions. Which was halfway successful, until her mom got excited.

"Oh, i'm so happy you had a good day!" she smiled, clapping her hands softly as her daughter laid on her bed, looking up from the homework pages she had in her hand. Homework already, it's bullshit.

"I'm making tortas tonight, then i have to leave for my shift till tomorrow." she spoke, her excitement not failing to make Lani chuckle. She watched as her mom walked away from the door way, before watching her brother replace her. "Why'd you get to start school late?" he asked, a slight whine in his tone.

Lani shrugged. "I'm just the favorite." she watched as he rolled his eyes, making her laugh. "I only missed a day, Miles, nothing special."

"I would be blessed to have that one day off." Miles argued, his arms waving around, looking crazily at his sister. Lani rolled her eyes. "Go get in the shower, Mi." "Cant, I have a tutor on the way."

Lani scoffed. "Miles Morales, needs a tutor?" she said in slight disbelief. "I thought you were supposed to be the smart one."

Miles chuckled at her comment. "Haha, very funny, Mae. But science sucks, and it's hard so."

"Science is my best subject, why didn't you ask?"

"I learned a long time ago not to ask you for shit."

"Miles Gonzalo! You better watch your mouth!" Rio yelled down the hall, just as the doorbell rang. "Come get this door!"

Lani laughed as her brother rolled his eyes for the 50th time. She watched as he walked the opposite direction of the door. "Where are you going? Ma said get the door."

"I gotta set up, you get it." Miles walked away from her door, making her groan as she jumped up, stepping out to greet their guest at the door.

Lani opened the door, shocked to see the same brown-haired boy she made amends with this morning. She smirked, crossing her arms as she leaned against the doorway. "Hey, Parker."

Peter began to nervously speak, his hands nervously holding his backpack strap, fumbling with his skateboard. "Hey, I'm here to tutor Miles?" he spoke, a small smile on his face as he saw the girl.

"Or you're here to stalk me?" She joked, raising her eyebrow.

Peter immediately began to defend himself, shaking his head. "No, no I um- I didn't know Miles was your brother. I wouldn't-"

"Pete, i'm just messing with you." she chuckled at his stuttering, stepping aside. "Come on, Miles is getting his stuff, you can sit at the table." she watched as Peter walked into the house, looking around at the beautiful aesthetically pleasing apartment. Rio got bored so she decorated the house.

His eyes travel to a baby picture of Maelani, making his chuckle. "This you?" she had cake all over her face, a big '1' candle on top of the cake in front of her as she smiled brightly.

Lani's eyes widened, before chuckling embarrassingly. "I was one, bare with me. This way." She attempted to lead Peter out of the hallway, but failed as he saw a picture of her dad, his eyes questionably looking at it.

"Parker!"

Peter turned away from the picture, turning to Lani, who was down the hall, by the walkway of the kitchen. He caught up quickly, seeing Miles walk in. "Hey Miles, i'm Peter."

"What's up, nice to meet you." He shook Peter's hand, nodding. "Let's get started so i can mess up these tortas." he sat down at the table, watching as Peter chuckled softly. Rio smiled as well. "Oh, this is my màmi, Rio. Ma, this is the tutor." he introduced, watching as they shook hands.

"Thank you for helping my baby. He knows I don't play about them grades." she commented, a small laugh leaving her lips. "When you're finished, feel free to stay and eat, Mr..?"

"Parker. Peter Parker."

"Mr. Parker. I'm off to work." Rio grabbed her bag, turning to her daughter. "Las llaves del otro auto están en tu habitación. No choques mi auto, Danae."

"I won't! I have a license, Ma relax." she chuckled, kissing her mom on her cheeks. "Text me when you get there."

"Love you babygirl." Rio smiled at her daughter, kissing her forehead before walking to her son. "Don't touch that game tonight, Miles. I'm not playing. Love you." she kissed her irritated son multiple times on his cheek, before turning to Peter. " Have a goodnight Peter." she pat his shoulder, before walking out of the door, locking it.

Miles turned to his sister, raising his eyebrow. She smirked. "$20, 5 hours."

"Deal." Miles pulled a twenty out of his pocket, handing it to his sister. Peter chuckled at the siblings, before opening his textbook, focusing Miles on his work.

MAELANI WALKED INTO THE HOUSE WEEKS LATER, finding Miles and Peter already at the table studying, but it seemed like they were packing their stuff. She set down her groceries, crossing her arms slightly. "And where are you boys going?"

Peter jumped slightly, before putting on a nervous smile. "Just uh, thought you would want some quiet when you got home, we're gonna head to my house." he admitted, which in a reality, was a lie.

They weren't going to Peter's house. They were going to OSCORP. Peter had found out a lot of stuff about his father, so he wanted to check it out. The only person who was interested to help him, was Miles.

Maelani looked over at her brother. "True?"

Miles held his backpack strap, before nodding softly. "I won't be gone long, Pete just has some stuff we can use at his house."

Lani sighed softly, before speaking. "Màmi has the day off tomorrow. She gets off in about 4 hours. You better be back by then." Miles muttered a 'yes' under his breath, watching as Lani turned to Peter. "I like you, Parker, i do. But if I find out you let something happen to my brother, I will beat you to the pulp. We good?" she watched as he nodded frantically. "Get out before I change my mind."

She watched as they ran down the hall, opening the door and exiting apartment, giving Maelani some peace and quiet.
