Arthdal
"Why did you do that?" Saya was applying medicine to the bruise on Tanya's neck. "Provoking Tagon is tantamount to digging your own grave."
"Why do I have to dig my grave? I'm not going to die. At least not now, as you said."
Saya stopped rubbing her neck, looked at Tanya, who didn't meet his gaze.
"Do you angry with me?"
"Did you make a mistake that I got mad at you?"
Saya put the medicine on the table and cleaned his hands, then he grabbed Tanya's hands.
"I said that just to comfort my father."
"But what you said was not wrong. At least not now, but someday I will be eliminated if I'm no longer useful, right? Either locked up like Asa Sakan, or killed like Asa Ron. That's why I find my own way to survive. When the opportunity arises, I couldn't miss it."
Saya tightened her hand, "it will never happen to you. I will make sure of that. Trust me. Indeed, no one can be trusted in Arthdal, but you can trust me."
"What if ... if one day, Tagon told you to get rid of me, would you save me, or obey your father? Could you betray him for my sake?"
Saya didn't answer right away. Tanya only smiled faintly, then pulled her hand from his grasp, but Saya still held it.
"I'll find a way, the best for everyone."
Tanya nodded, "okay. Um, I'm a little tired. Can I rest?"
Tanya let out a long, heavy breath after Saya left her alone in the chamber. She often feels uncomfortable if she interacts with Saya for too long. Even though they are two different people, Eunseom and Saya have the same face. Every time she saw his face, Tanya would always remember Eunseom, and miss him so badly. This felt very torturous for Tanya.
Tanya got up and went to the window. She stared at the dark orange sky. Birds flew across the horizon, about to return to their nests before darkness fell. Tanya whistled, and a pigeon with dark gray feather came up to her, perched on the back of her hand.
"I want like you who can fly freely wherever you want," Tanya rubbed the pigeon's head, "Can you convey my message to Eunseom? I'm alone. I'm lonely. And I miss him."
Tanya took a small piece of blue cloth with a scab pattern on Eunseom's back. Almost every night, when she missed Eunseom, Tanya drew the scab motif. She tied it to the bird's leg, then took it off. The bird flew towards the east, as if it was going to deliver a message from Tanya to Eunseom.

Ago region
After several days of walking, Seucheon finally arrived at Ago's territory. Tired and thirsty, he rested in a small cave by the river. The territory was vast and he didn't know which clan territory Eunseom was in. Besides, it was getting dark.
Due to exhaustion, he fell asleep immediately. When the sun returned to greet the world, Seucheon was about to stretch out, but he couldn't move his hands. When he opened his eyes, he widened them to see that his body had been bound by rope. Some men surrounded him. Their faces looked unfriendly, especially since they each carried sharp weapons.
"Wh ... what are you doing?"
"Who are you? Where are you from and why are you in Ago's territory?" Asked one of them.
"I'm Seucheon from Arthdal-- '
Seucheon had not yet finished introducing himself, the men drew knives at the front of his necks.
