The fire burned down the guard post fort and its contents which were the remaining food supplies of Ago's troops. The tents they had built behind the fort had also turned to ashes. Ago's army retreated to the Agoha forest. They continued to be chased by Arthdal's army. Some were caught and taken prisoner.
Saya was optimistic that they will be able to welcome spring in Arthdal. They just need to hunt down the rest of the troops and the people of Ago, also take Inaishingi's corpse, cut off his head, then display it in front of Arthdal's palace.
Several Ago warriors carried the leader's corpse back to the Moo Clan village, which was closest to the Agoha forest. Even if the corpse's body was heavy, they would not abandon it, and had to properly bury their leader's corpse. Weeping accompanied the bodies being carried, and was greeted with the cries of all the Ago people who currently live in the Moo Clan village.
The corpse was placed in the center of the square, surrounded by people kneeling and crying. Shaman girls dance the Waterfall dance to bring the soul of their leader back to the afterlife in peace. Then the body was carried to the edge of the village, buried in the graves of the late leaders of Ago.
Grasping a few sprigs of winter bush flowers, Eunseom stepped over to the grave, placing the flowers on it.
This young man who died on the battlefield was the leader of the Moo Clan. His family had died, so he was appointed clan leader even though he was still very young, only 2 years older than Eunseom. He has a body stature that is similar to Eunseom. His curly hair is actually long, but he cut it short because he really idolizes this reincarnation of Inaishingi. During the war almost 3 months ago, he helped Eunseom a lot in leading the troops. Not only the people of the Moo Clan, Eunseom also felt very lost.
Back in the village, Eunseom looks around. The healers and nurses were busy treating the wounded soldiers. Because of the many victims, the community also helped by treating soldiers who were lightly injured, while the seriously injured were treated by the medical team. There were several soldiers whose injuries were too heavy, eventually they could not be helped and died.
Eunseom felt his chest so tight like a big rock was on top of him. The stone is a moral burden and responsibility as a leader. He felt like a failure.
They shouldn't be at war.
He shouldn't have received recognition as Inaishingi.
He should have left immediately after falling from the waterfall.Again he remembers Mrs. Cheolson's words, that she is not sure whether Eunseom will bring good or bad things to the Wahan Tribe. Evidently, Wahan Village was attacked. And now, he also brought bad luck to the Ago Tribe. Igutu is a bad luck, that's what everyone believes.
"Eunseom," Ipsaeng approached him, "why are you just standing here? Everyone is waiting for you."
"Ipsaeng, will you take my place in command of the army?"
Ipsaeng stared, "what???"
"You said, the descendants of the leader of the Tae Clan have served Inaishingi all this time. It could be, who knows, you are the reincarnation of Inaishingi."
Ipsaeng touches Eunseom's forehead, "Are you sick? Or drunk?"
"No."
"Hey, if I become Inaishingi, that means I have to go through the Waterfall trial. I'm still sane enough not to do it. Stop your bullshit and come up with a new strategy to strike back at Arthdal, rescuing Dalsae, Chanaragi, and all of our comrades being taken captive."
"How can we attack, while our troops are injured? Look!"
Ipsaeng just glanced, "they will recover soon. There are still many healthy soldiers. Maybe you have never experienced a war before, but 8 years ago the death toll was much higher."
