Thomas Sanders strolled along the partly rocky shores of a local beach. He had only recently started visiting this beach as for most of his childhood he and his family would travel to a beach further down the Floridian coast. He had moved out since then and driving there most summers had become more of a bother with the amount of gas and time spent, so he travels to this one instead. It was a fairly normal beach, nearby coral reefs, boats that took you to deeper waters and many water activities abroad. However this beach in particular was most notorious for its shark sightings and even Mermaid sightings. This was most likely a huge load of bull that nearby hotel salesmen advertise to get more tourists but that wasn't stopping Thomas' all-things-Disney-and-fantastical-related loving heart from hoping it was true.

Thomas sighed skipping a stone across the surface of the water. The sun was blazing hot and he was left sat on a rock near the shore in his swim attire. You see, he was waiting on a couple of friends to show up so they could have a beach day. However most of them cancelled last minute due to work or family related issues. Leaving only Thomas and his friend Joan actually attending the outing. Thomas had arrived early to help set up towels and umbrellas but that was before most people cancelled which left him alone with his towel laid out and bag with sunscreen, water, his phone and a book he was recently getting into.

So there he waited skipping stones while being baked by the sun's rays.

" I wonder if I can just take a quick dip.. Joan wouldn't mind, right? I could just tell them that it was getting hot " Thomas said to himself. He did that quite a lot actually, talking to himself was one of his many traits. He ended up deciding on going in the water, he was growing hot and bored anyways. So he grabbed his goggles and snorkeling gear and headed for the water.

The sweet relief of the cool water was refreshing. Thomas properly secured his rainbow colored snorkel and goggles before diving in completely. He cruised along the surface going a bit deeper out to see if he could find any fish or life at all.

Thomas wasn't paying attention to how long exactly he was swimming out but he went far enough to the point where the tourists and other swimmers were some what far away. He finally found what seemed to be a little cluster of coral and fish below him. Thomas would marvel at the wonderous colors and shapes of the fish and coral.

Something had caught his eye, something that seemed to be a bit larger than all the other fish. Call him crazy but Thomas could almost swear he saw a tentacle from a black and green octopus but that would be silly, especially one that seemed that big. Thomas considered diving down a bit to take a closer look but before he could think for himself something dragged him down forcefully. Thomas had no time to react not even to let out a shriek of horror. He tried whirling around to see what had caught him but it only latched on more.

It was that same black and green tentacle this time there were more Thomas couldn't count exactly how many of course since he was kind of being dragged under the water forcefully by them. It brought him down to the sea floor before completely letting go. Thomas, confused but finally free, tried whirling back around to see what creature did this to him. However before he could see anything a flash of a long black and yellow tail that looked almost like an eel, except for the fact that it was massive in comparison to a normal eel, rushed before him. Thomas swam back in fear of what he just saw he only had time to see a bit more of the tail before it vanished into the coral clusters. Thomas felt as though he had bumped into something else so of course he whipped his head around only to find a person? However they had fish fin like ears and a small angler fish like bait thing coming from their forehead.

Thomas jumped in absolute shock and somewhat horror.

'WHAT IS THAT WHAT IS THAT WHAT IS THAT IS THAT A PERSON WHY DO THEY LOOK LIKE THAT HOLY HELL GET ME OUT OF HERE-'  Thomas thought to himself. Before he could even do anything the person seeming to be a young adult male maybe even teen opened his mouth wide baring rows of terrifyingly sharp teeth that looked straight out of a horror movie. Thomas felt as though his soul left his body because soon after everything went black and hazy.
