Chapter 7

 Trip to the past

A little shadow ran through the big mansion trying not to be seen by anyone. The little shadow ran fast and quietly. As the moons light shine into the mansion through the big glass door u can clearly see the beautiful brunet hair. It was a little girl that was the age of 5. A happy little smile on her face as she ran to the basement of the mansion without being seen by anyone inside. As she was about to enter the basement someone called her name. "So this is where u where running to. Didn't your dad tell you not to go there alone?" Someone called her. A little boy the age of 7 stepped out of the shadows. He had beautiful ice blue eyes "How did you know I was here?" She asked the figure. "I .... I was out getting a glass of water when I saw you run in here." The little boy said. "Yeah right you big liar" the little girl said. The boy walked over to the girl and said. "Well since we are here let's go inside. It's freezing here anyways." as they were about go inside the basement, suddenly a loud noise was heard from outside. "ahhhhhhhhh" someone screamed. The little boy and the little girl. Quickly ran upstairs from the basement. To their surprise the once calm and beautiful hall ways were filled with bodies of the guards and there blood. It was a blood birth. There were people fighting. The little girl had frozen with fear. "Come on lea! We can't stand here. We have to find both our parents and hide!" The little boy said as he started to drag the terrified little girl.

The little kids both ran to hide from the fight. When they reached the end of the hallway. They can hear the voices of their mothers calling. "Andrew......Leona where are the both of you!?" They both ran to the sound of their mothers. When they finally reached they find their mothers both sick with worries. "Mamma! What going on" the little girl lets go of the hand of the little boy and ran into the arms of beautiful woman who had green and burnet hair. "Andrew honey. Where were u and lea all this time? We thought you two were captured." the other woman said who had beautiful ice blue eyes like the little boy but with blond hair. As she hugged the little boy tightly. The girl's mother talked. "Listen to me you two! You need to get out of here it's not safe anymore." Leona's mom said as she let go of her. Andrews's mom bends down and a little girl runs from the back of her and hugs Andrew. Andrew's mom hugs both of them gently. "Listen to me Ava, Andrew run, run far and fast none of you are safe. You need to get far away and don't get caught," she said as a tear escaped her eyes and she hugged the two kids again this time tightly. "Mamma I don't want to leave you. Don't make me go away ..." Ava started to cry. Andrew's eyes watered as he understood what was going on. His mother was asked to leave her here and protect his sister and lea. Andrew hugged his mom tightly. "Mamma where is papa" little Leona asked as her mom hugged her again. "Your father is on the battlefield with Andrew's dad trying to protect us, mamma and auntie must join them to help you escape. So baby girl run with Andy and Ava survive and lives. We will catch up to you kids as soon as possible. I love you, my baby girl." Leona's mom said as she gave her one more hug. "We both love you guys now run!" Said Andrew and Leona's mother as they let go of their kids. "I will put an invisibility spell on them," said Andrew's mom "and a small protection spell with a strength spell on them" Leona's mom followed she raised her hands and whispered in magical words. And after casting the spells the three smiled at their kids and ran away from them and into the battlefield. The three of them watched as their mother's diligent clothes turn into fierce armor as they ran. Suddenly she felt someone pull her hand. "Come on lea. we need to get out here." the boy shouted to her as an explosion erupted in front of them and a big fire suddenly appeared in front of them and Leona closed her eyes in fear. That's the last thing she saw before everything went dark.

Back to the present

Andrew POV

"Big brother it's time to wake up. I am leaving in a couple of hours you promised to take me to the train station. And help the new recruits get settled into the base." Ava knocked on the door. I opened my eyes the first thing that greets me eyes are the sunlight that was coming from the window. I shielded my eyes from the sun as I got out of bed. I walked into my bathroom and got ready to go. After that, I took my mask and step out of my room to see Ava cooking breakfast. "Good morning sis. Care to tell me what the time is. I forgot to check when I came out btw the food Smells delicious. What's for breakfast?" I asked as I sat down at the table. Ava walks over with a plate in her hand "your favorite bacon, egg, and toast. And it's 7:00 am you have to be at the base by 8:30" she says as she put her plate down and smiled. "Yum. Thank you for breakfast." I thanked her and begin to eat. "You ready to go back to Evergreen," I asked Ava as I stuff my face with bacon. "Yeah, I am all packed. You will be moving into the base right? Since I will be leaving." Ava asked as she sat down in front of me with her breakfast. "Yeah. Training will start today remember. So it will be easy if I stay there." I answered. After that, we ate in good quiet silence. I finished my breakfast, took my plate to the sink, and went to my room. I took the stuff I had brought over from the base to the house and packed them. I didn't bring much so I didn't have much stuff. I almost always hang around the base or am on missions a lot. After a few minutes of packing everything I walked out of my room and called out to Ava. "Sis are you done packing. I am going to head out to the base ok. So give me. The stuff you want me to take with me." For a minute I didn't hear a reply. Maybe she doesn't have anything for me to take back. So I thought. Suddenly Ava's bedroom door opened fast. I looked over to see her bringing in 3 boxes up to me. I watched in surprise as she kept them on the floor. "Here you go, big brother. These are all I need you to take to the base for me. If you're taking them it will be a big help." She said as she carefully laid the stuff in front of me. "So when I told you not to bring everything here you didn't listen to me did you?" I asked her. She stuck out her tongue at me and laughed. "Well I am a girl and it's kinda difficult for me to have stuff in different places. When we moved here and go back. I didn't plan on bringing everything. But when you were away on a mission with Jacob I dragged Lucas to help me." she told me. I could picture Lucas being forced into helping. "Did you bring in any of your weapons?" I asked. "Of course not I was going to but Lucas said it was a bad idea," she said. I let out. Breath of relief. To know she didn't. If She did it could have been bad and ended in the wrong hands. I spoil her too much.

"I will take one box with me ok. I still have to take my stuff too you know. I have less stuff but even I can't take all these and help the others. "I told her. "Oh, I see. So you are saying I still have to carry them all the way back to the base? All on my own?" she said as she popped her head out of her room door. "How about you ask Lucas to help. I know he would gladly help you." I teased her knowing they both had a crush on one another but didn't know it themselves. If you ask me it's pretty obvious. "Like hell that moran would help. I would need to trick him into helping me anyway. I bet I can trick him since he is an idiot." I couldn't help but laugh at what she was saying. "Ok I will tell him to come over and you can ask him I am going to head out now," I told her, taking my stuff and the box Ava had given me and heading out. I headed in the direction of the base. I didn't make it too far when I ran into Lucas. "Oh, where have you headed Lucas?" I asked knowing exactly where he was going. "Nowhere in particular was out for a walk and now I am thinking of going and seeing Ava. I have a feeling she will need help to move her stuff back to the base before she leaves with Jacob." Lucas answered. "Yeah, I told her not to bring everything. I am glad you were able to get her not to bring her weapons." I said nodding. "Yeah, that was hard to do she wanted to bring everything. I had to bribe her with chocolate cake, and a bunch of other stuff. And she also kind of beat me up the first time when I argued with her. I swear she still acts like a kid." he said. I basted into laughter imagining Lucas trying to convince her and losing his precious money to buy her stuff and getting beat up for not listening to her. "Ha-ha I know she is a very different girl. Maybe because I spoiled her too much. But good luck with her. Go on I need to go now. She probably is waiting for you" I said winking at him. I could see a blush on his face as I waved and walked past him. To be honest, Lucas is the only one I would want to date my sister. I want no other man. No one else can handle her temper like him and give her what she needs. Plus, I have known him for almost 5 years now. And I trust him. As I was walking I start to remember the good old times of how we first met. It brought a smile to my face remembering that after everything Ava and I lost we were still able to continue living and found great people around us. At this point, I was not paying attention to where I was going and of course, bumped into someone.

"Hey watch where you are going." someone said to me as I bumped into that person "Oh I am sorry I was not watching where I was going I will be more careful next time," I said. As I started to walk away from them. I needed to hurry and focus. I checked the time and it was almost 8:15. I put my phone in my pocket and I started to make my way to the base. I decided to take the secret passage. No one else knows about it besides me and Ava. And my childhood friend lea. As I got close to the entrance of the passage I found myself overwhelmed with memories of us three running and hiding from our parents. It has been a while since I used this passage. I smiled to myself as I entered. Through the passage, I entered the base. I walked over to Ava's room and kept her stuff inside. Literally, there were only her weapons in the room nothing other than that. I shook my head as I went to my room and kept my stuff in there too. I checked the time I had barely made it. It was 8:30 pm. I took my mask and put it on as I walked over to report to Alex.

I see Alex walking out of the office. "Hey, Andy. You hear early I am surprised" He said mocking me. "Oh shut up you, I am here because you asked me to be here on time. And also I am supposed to help them all settle in remember and take Ava and Jacob to the train station" I said hitting him on the shoulder. "Yeah, I know. So on a serious note. Are u prepared to train her? I can tell by just looking at her that she is an excellent fighter." Alex said. "Of course she is. I met her at Evergreen. She and I fought there and I was quite impressed with her fighting style. And it was quite shocking when I saw her last night in the forest." I told Alex. "you met her before she came to the base?" Alex asked surprised. "yeah I did!" I told him the basic stuff. "Hmmm, I see. She and her friends were recommended to me by an old friend of mine. and the fact they are all great fighters is very weird too. he has other recruits but they have never been able to handle their ground with you 4". Alex said. he was right I thought. "oh well! let's forget it they should be here by now. we need to go and see them" Alex said as he playfully hit me on my back and started to walk. I shook my head in thought that how chill our idiot leader is. I rubbed my back as I walked over to the entrance with him. But can't say he is not serious either.

I adjusted my mask and hair as I reached the entrance. when I went there I see Leona waiting for us there. I see her sitting on the steps with a headset on and her hair down. she looked so pretty sitting there. "Andy ... Andy yo! Andy! Snap out of it." Alex said as he waved his hands in front of my eyes. I walked over and called her. She took off her headset and looked at me. her beautiful emerald eyes focused on me. the eyes that were supposed to be filled with light and energy like before now were dull and dark. How much can a person's life change in just a few days? I wondered.
