8: I'm a doctor

It was our OPD day all 4 interns reached early and sat in OPD .As usual Malini ,kriti with the ma'am and me ali with head.Arrangement was like this ,one table and 2 chair for professors and 2 for interns and 1 for patient.It was all set and as usual i was sitting in chair near to patient .As professors didn't come, usually they come little late so till that time we were supposed to manage the OPD and i was writing case history on one of the patient's sheet.

Then there comes he Karan pg with a book in his hand 😱.yess he returns .i was so happy ,thank God it was COVID time and mask was on  so he couldn't see  that. Out of over enthusiasm and happiness i stood up .He didn't gave a look in my direction and pulled my chair and sat in that.😳Shocked is an understatement i couldn't ask him to give my chair back neither there is space for another chair .So in that OPD i had to stay in corridor totally jobless and nobody cared."Dude atleast I'm a doctor ok leave it atleast i am a girl who the hell will pull a girl's chair and sit on that in this era.Moreover that Ali he didn't pay any attention to the happenings .Now i seriously doubt the reason behind Karan pg's suspension 😡
It's after noon OPD session i reached early and conquered a chair in OPD, Karan pg came and finally he asked our phone numbers to add in WhatsApp group.Oh god😍 from day one actually i was waiting for this moment where I will get his number.yess.I finally got it.Atlast something good happened .As usual he only talked with Ali  about who posted all these girls in this unit 🙄 and went to casualty and asked others to wait in OPD.I was thinking yeah yeah .we girls are useless right 😡 such a male chauvinist pig.🤮How i wished to yell at him we are not girls we are doctors!!

Half an hour later ,Ali came with a grandfather on wheelchair and informed us that our unit is admitting this patient and attenders are discussing about the same  by the time being sir asked us to write the case sheet and finish other formalities.So Malini went to do that and me kriti and grandfather was sitting in OPD.She was studying and i looked at that grandfather and noticed something is wrong .I took my stethoscope auscultated him and checked his pulse it was feeble .I asked kriti to take BP apparatus from psychiatry OPD but she was scared so i only took that from their OPD checked bp it was not recordable.Shit! he should be in casualty i should send him back.I asked the attenders to go back to casualty then kriti intervened and asked me to inform Karan pg or else he will scold later .I asked her to call and tell him but she was scared and she didn't want to get any scolding for future as we have almost one 1 month remaining in this unit 😕So i decided to call Karan pg and tell him about the situation.I was very nervous my first call to him it's ringing oh god ..he started with hello oh god i have to speak back now.So i talked with whatever confidence i had  "sir , I'm your intern and the new admission case you have sent to OPD is not stable .He is like is the patient unconscious and I'm like no.Then why are you telling me he is not stable.😳
I was knowing that he takes interns as morons and only unconscious =seriousness for us(how mean!) .Itold him i couldn't feel his pulse and bp was not recordable.May be he got convinced and he asked me to send the patient back to casualty.So i ran to casualty with patient and he gave me a look for the first time ,i thought now atleast he will speak to me something be it scolding but he asked me to go back to OPD.I had no other option than to follow .All the way back i was muttering to myself how I was a fool who thought atleast he will tell good job or something good that i could figure out that patient condition is serious.But no .. I'm asked to be in OPD.uggghh!!
Later on i was scared i started thinking various possibilities like what if that patient is normal..then this is going to be mess .Oh god that's scary.
No intern would have dared to call him and tell about a seemingly serious case .No intern would have called him for a seriously serious case too.🙊what did i do ?now what should I do!I was in panick attack so i decided to call Ali and ask about the happenings in Casualty.He told medicine professor checked and told he has to be shifted to ICU and there was an ongoing hemorrhage near his intertrochanteric fracture femur and he is very serious.Oh thank God..i became so happy 🙊, sorry grandfather ,but i was really happy to atleast diagnose it thereby  helping  him  and also to tell Karan pg that I AM A DOCTOR too without telling him on his face that I'm a doctor.😅
