"What am I doing with my life?", Ashton asked himself for the hundredth time that month while in the car. He probably wasn't even exaggerating because everyday on the way to school he'd ask himself that because he was remembering the day before and all the embarrassment he had endured. When he got back from school he'd ask himself that for the same reason(sort of).

Ashton just found it even more embarrassing since he was talking to himself. Who does that? Of course, he would talk to himself because there was no one else for him to talk to. He had been in school for a few months now and not managed to make a single friend. It seemed like everyone had already established there own group of friends and didn't need any more members which just made him miss his old group of friends even more. Ashton had practically given up on being optimistic by now.

He had managed to buy himself an apartment from money that he stole, or as he would rather call it, selective borrowing. Ashton would eventually return the money to them since he was in his senior year of high school and would get a job the next year because Ashton was fairly good at school since there was no one to distract him

This is why he didn't like being alone. He would start thinking about everything that was wrong with his life and get really depressed, so Ashton needed something to distract him and turned on the radio to listen to the new music they have or shall he call it old music.

A song called Thinking out loud came on the radio by an artist called Ed Sheeran. It was pretty catchy until he actually started thinking about the lyrics. The song was about two people growing old together and Ashton immediately changed the channel when he realized that he had arrived at school, the place where dreams go to die, for the second time that day. At least this time it was going to be empty except for a teacher and all the people in detention. That thought made Ashton dread walking into detention even more.

To get himself mentally prepared to walk into detention he walked the hall slowly since there was some time left until it started.

He had walked these halls hundreds of times but it felt weird not getting pushed around but it was a nice kind of weird although it was really creepy.

Finally, Ashton arrived at the door to detention which already felt like a prison. Taking slow, deep breaths he opened the door hesitantly. To his suprise, there was only a girl there who looked like a good student. Not the type that would get detention but the other bad kids had most likely ditched because they didn't give a fuck about school.

Taking it as a chance to make a new friend, he went and sat beside her which was a pretty bold move since he had never talked to her before although she was in his class, he remembered. Right when he started to sit down the girl said,"get up."

"Why?", Ashton asked with a hurt look on his face. He thought this girl would be nice and not like all the others. He now knows now not to judge a person by how they look and was thinking of ditching like all the other bad kids so he walked toward the door.

When he had finally reached the door the girl who he had not learned the name of yet said," I told you to get up so you can sign in, silly. I"m not mean like all the others and you can sit beside me if you want." She was smiling and laughing at the same time and her laugh was contagious so Ashton started laughing too.

He finished signing in and sat back down when the girl said,"Nice fall today in class," still with a smile on her face so instead of Ashton being hurt and embarassed by her comment which he was, he just laughed it off and said," The ground just needed a hug, why are you so mean?"

"Yeah, right. I was probably one of the only people who wasn't laughing." She said in a less joking tone.

"You mean that weren't laughing that hard," He exclaimed but quickly changed the subject trying not to screw this up. "What's your name?" Although she was in his class, Ashton had never really bothered to learn her name or anyone else's because he lived inside his own little bubble and didn't let anything intrude because he had given up on making friends a long time ago but was now willing to take a chance.

"Ivy, and I assume you are none other than Ashton Irwin. Wow, I know yours but you don't even know mine" She scoffed.

He now felt really bad and promised himself that he would start learning other people's names which wasn't that hard to do.

"I apologize but you seem like a good student so why are you here?" He asked in the sweetest tone he could manage trying to make up for not knowing her name but all hope for becoming friends with her had already been lost.

It took her a few minutes to finally answer the question but she did eventually. Ivy said,"One of my friends was trying to talk to me during class but the teacher didn't notice it until I told her to stop talking and now I have detention. I just wish there was a friend that I could trust, you know."

"You can trust me." Ashton exclaimed with a sad look on his face because although he had only known Ivy for like ten minutes he disliked the fact that that had to happen to her.

Before Ivy had a chance to reply someone burst through the door
