-Ashton's pov

Out of all the people in the world it just had to be our teacher, Mr.Clement. He's always so unfair. Seriously, giving me detention for sleeping in class when lots of other people did it too but he only noticed me because I'm always a good student and what happened with Ivy was just wrong.

Students laugh at me during class and are so mean, yet he does nothing about it. I always can't find a group or partner when he tells us to pick one and end up having to do everything myself, yet he still does nothing about it.

Its not just him that I hate, it every single teacher that I have because they're all like Mr.Clement and everyone in the school. I know hate is a strong word but its the only word I can use to describe the feeling I have towards them right now. Except for Ivy at the moment but I don't know if I can trust her yet but I hope I can someday, if we ever become friends which the chances for it happening were ruined because that teacher just came in so we couldn't talk anymore.

"I heard you students, speaking, is that correct?" Mr. Clement said in a harsh tone which should never be used by a teacher and why was he asking us if he actually heard us speaking but I thought I'd give lying a try.

"No sir, we didn't say a word that was probably other people in another classroom." There probably weren't any people in this school but us yet he's so dumb a truck could've hit him and he wouldn't notice.

"Well then, I'll be staying in here to make sure there aren't anymore disruptions during this class."

This really shouldn't have bothered me considering all the other disappointments in my life but I still wasn't too happy about it. It was even probably the most interesting thing that has happened in my life since what felt like forever.

Just then I felt something on my back which in any other circumstance I would've just assumed to be a bug but when I reached my hand there and caressed Ivy's hands and in them were a note.

It read: I know I can trust you, you're special. Here's my number xxx-xxx-xxx

I probably looked like an idiot smiling and giggling while reading the note but who the hell cares. I made a new friend. Ivy noticed and looked over to me with the largest smile on her face. I assumed it was because I looked so happy and then I mouthed thank you so much.

My paranoia eventually got the better of me and I started thinking about how she might have just felt bad for me since she knew I didn't have anyone so she talked to me and became my friend just because of that.

I tried to block those thoughts out of my mind and just be happy but its impossible for me now not to think about everything in a negative way unfortunately. Yet, I still had a grin on my face to not let Ivy be aware of what I was thinking.

I looked at the clock and detention was almost over. I couldn't believe all that had happened in such a short time. What if this was the start of a new era and things would start to get better from now on if Ivy turned out to be a good person.

Yeah, I really hoped so.

Ironically, I didn't want detention to end so I would just stay here in comfortable silence with Ivy. When this ends I would just go back to my miserable life but I wanted to live in the moment and enjoy my happiness while it lasted.

A few minutes later I was taken out of my daydream by the teacher announcing it was time to leave and I was brought back to reality.

Ivy and I walked out of the classroom and she said, "It was very nice meeting you, I hope we can.."

Her phone interrupted her mid sentence and I was surprised to hear that her ringtone was Runaways by All Time Low. They were a really old band but they were one of my favorite bands and maybe one of her's too which got me really excited but then I saw the look on her face as she was listening to what the person on the other side of the phone was saying.

"Okay, I'll ask and get back to you with what he says mom, bye."Ivy said into the phone before ending the call.

"My mom's busy and can't take me home so can you?" She asked

"I would love to", I said which may have sounded creepy and now she might not want to be friends with me and now my plan for staying away from negative thoughts was ruined.

"Thanks!" Ivy had a smile on her face.

"Anytime."

We then proceeded to walk out of the school and into the parking lot where my old car was. It was embarrassing for her to let her see my car in that shape but I was used to embarrassment by now.

I led her to my car with my head down because I didn't want to see her face when she looked at my beat up car but luckily she didn't say anything about it and just said thanks again with that same wonderful smile on her face.

And then it was time to leave.
