You begin to settle in and enjoy your new life with the Skyhawks. A lot of their missions are very dangerous, but that only adds to the thrill. Tracking down bounties, smuggling, espionage and assassination are just some of the few things you get involved in. Eventually you all become very rich after two extremely high-paying jobs in a row. You can hardly remember any other life before this. But then came the Great Disaster.

You hadn't been paying much attention to the civil unrest and riots plaguing the land recently. The Civilians Liberation Movement, a group formed to overthrow the land's harsh ruler, Lord Valorus had gained diplomatic support and approval. The whole country was divided, with most of the poorer class citizens and some humanitarian senators joining the Civilians Liberation Movement (CLM), and the higher class and much of the Government siding with Lord Valorus. Soon it was all-out civil war. The conflict escalated into a nuclear holocaust when the CLM set off a Hyperium bomb near an industrial expanse of arms manufacturing warehouses. The resulting fallout contaminated almost the whole continent and wiped out all life within a 500 km radius of the blast. Right now you're sheltering in a cave with a few other survivors. The toxic wind howls outside, like eerie singing. You have a strange feeling that this never should have happened. Echoes of another time, another place, another universe where this disaster never came about. But its no use trying to undo this. It's the way things are now, and you can't change it.
