It's 8pm. Cruz is getting ready for bed. He rubs sunscream on his body. He looks like a gargoyle with wings, just with bright red eyes. Demons burn a little at night and burn a lot during the day. In Hell, there isn't a celestial body in the sky and the sky is as red as Cruz's eyes. Everything down there is black and red. Only the clothes of the doomed, mortal souls have colours other than red and black.

My phone rings and I pick it up. It's Nancy Clementine, my neighbour.
"Hi, Ivan. Sorry to bother you at this hour, but you forgot to give me back my newspaper." I put the phone down, grab the paper and exit the door to give it back to her. I knock on her door and she opens. I look at her. She looked like she was busy having sex with her husband.
"

Sorry that I look odd. I was busy."
"Yes, very busy." We both got a fright.
"Cruz, go back inside!" He goes inside.
"I'm so sorry about that, Nancy. He has no manners."
"He's a demon, Ivan. You can't expect him to be considerate."
"Carnell! Off my property! I don't want you and your demon near my house!" That was the voice of Dick Clementine, her husband. He was a very superstitious man.
"He just came to give me back my newspaper. Don't worry, Cruz isn't with him." He goes back inside, probably to their bedroom to wait for her.
"I'm sorry."
"He's afraid, just like everyone else."
She locks the door and I head back to my house. Cruz is fast asleep. I think about what Gunter told me before I left him. I nod, smile to myself, fall flat on my back and immediately fall asleep.
