Chapter 11 - Date night

I was now sitting on the couch of the living room waiting for the clock to hit 7 for Shota to pick me up. I was wearing (outfit of choice) that Mina helped me pick, I still didn't know where Shota was planning to take me so we had a little hard time trying to choose something for me to wear, and he didn't say anything after asking for my address, so that didn't help at all.

I was unconsciously fidgeting with my fingers and tapping my leg out of nervousness. A million thoughts ran through my mind of how all this could go wrong or about Shota standing me up, until a knock coming from the front door interrupted my overthinking.

Mina burst out of her room and made a beeline to open the front door knowing exactly who was at the other side. "Mina no!" I yelled to her and stood up from my spot on the couch and tried to catch up to her and get first to the door. I already knew if she opened it and saw Shota standing there, she would start with her 'overprotective dad' questions and totally embarrass me.

But unfortunately Mina gets to the door first and harshly opens it, almost yanking the door out of its hinges. I slowed my running before I crashed into Mina and rushed outside to get Shota as far as possible from my friend's interrogatory, we'll have to save that for another time. "Don't even start, Mina." I told her with a stern voice, glaring in her direction. From behind her I could see Jiro peek her head out of her room to see what all the ruckus was about. "We'll get going, see you guys later!" I said loud enough so Jiro could hear me, grabbing Shota's hands and dragging him out of my apartment building.

Aizawa was still stunned by what happened, just letting me pull him wherever. We exited the building and the cold night air hit him and brought him back to reality. "Sorry about that, it's just that my friends are a little... weird," I said looking away out of embarrassment, I let go of his hand and started nervously playing with my fingers.

Out of nowhere, I got this strange feeling that someone was watching us but when I glanced around the street it was fairly empty, except for the occasional car passing by.

"Don't worry about that," he said with a breathy chuckle. His quiet laugh made me look up at him and I caught him briefly smiling. "Your friends are nothing compared with one of my friends." Shota uttered, thinking of a certain loud, blond man.

"So where are you taking me Mr. Aizawa?" my voice changed to a more serious and teasing tone, looking up at him through my lashes, batting them in an innocent manner. Now that I was looking at him, I had the opportunity to admire his outfit. He was wearing black slacks with a white button up shirt tucked neatly, a red tie and to top it off a black long coat that made him look elegant yet casual.

"It's a surprise." He simply said, taking my hand and leading me to his car parked at my apartment's parking lot. It was a nice sleek black car, he opened the passenger's door for me. I sent him a quiet thanks and quickly climbed inside, putting my seat belt on and getting comfortable.

Shota gets to the driver's seat and turns on the car, getting it out of the parking lot without effort, mind I say he looked very hot while doing that. For the rest of the drive he placed his right hand on my upper thigh, occasionally rubbing little circles with his thumb and I'd be lying if I said that didn't give me butterflies. It's been so long since someone took me out on a date; and now that I'm thinking about it, I don't remember Dabi ever taking me on a date. And now that I think about him, he hasn't contacted me since I left his apartment that night, and maybe it's for the better.

After a while of driving we finally arrived at what seemed like a nice, expensive restaurant. Shota parked the car and went around it to open my door for me, extending his hand my way to help me out of the car. Even when I was out he didn't let go of my hand, all the way to the front of the restaurant where he also opened the door for me. He's such a gentleman, he's already gaining boyfriend points.
